And the Silent shortcut toggles between the Silent profile and the other profile you just enabled before enabling the Silent one. If you have the Meeting profile enabled then you can enable the Silent profile from the Silent shortcut and again back to the Meeting profile from that shortcut. It is same for other profiles as well.
In the mean time if you are able to explore the Double tapping feature or find any way to add any more shortcut please let me know @ sg.abhishek@gmail.com.

sunil, 11 Jan 2011can we do office applications in this phone?You can view office files like '.doc', '.docx', '.xls', '.xlsx', '.ppt', '.pptx' etc. But you cannot open a '.pps' file or you cannot edit any of the office files mentioned above.
You can also open a '.pdf' file and create & edit a '.txt' file with the help of the Notepad application which can be downloaded from the Samsung Apps freely.

This phone look... moreSorry man, either you have some faulty settings in your camera (this camera needs to be set up for the perfect purpose through camera settings, like Shooting Mode, SCN, Exposure, SSO etc. for each and every different scenario)
or
you have a faulty set (contact Samsung Service Center at your locality to resolve this issue).
Because I have taken some really nice shots through this, but I can mention that the camera needs to be set up for every different scenario. One set-up of settings in this camera won't produce same sort of picture quality in different scenarios like most of the other ordinary mobile cameras do.

Wow!!!.. the 1st thing tht came to my mind when i saw this beast.Watever any1 has 2 say abt it..i think its a very cool n feature-rich phone + reasonable pricing..Gr8 wrk Samsung..pls improve the battery-life a bit though..

when will this handset be available in showrooms in NCR? it's such a pity that all competitors have launched and selling their sets at brisk pace. but samsung is nowhere seen marketing 8530. they may have accepted defeat.

Samoled is better wrt the following...
1> Viewing angle (but there's no reason why anyone would like to see at narrow angle)
2> Outdoor visibility
3> Battery consumption
Hope you agree...
But we get a bigger screen in return so its not a bad tradeoff IMHO :)

I also was fearing on seeing the review from gsm arena about the loudspeaker performance and audio quality. but after buying it i can surely say that it is rendering a very high quality loud speaker and audio quality.
