Just a quick note to say that many reviews of mobiles seem inadequate on the facts. This phone is better than, or equal to, the Wave I. The screen resolution is excellent and I see no difference between the two. I just traded the Wave I and really enjoy the larger screen for watching video movies. I highly recommend this version over the original-but both are good phones.

asgme, 10 Jan 2011There is a shortcut bar at the top of the main screen. To a... moresry. i couldn't get you. in the top one, wifi, bluetooth and silent profile shortcuts only are there. how can i add a new one?
moreover, under gestures in general settings, there is a feature called double tapping. in that i assigned settings as shortcut. In help it is telling that on tapping the device twice, will launch the corresponding application(settings which i have selected)from the home screen. can u please help me?

its yet to released officially, on jan 15th i guess. however a few model wer available in grey market

I have purchase samsung wave 2 a month ago. This phone looking great. It provides spaces for files, high speed and great operating system, touch screen is well.
Before purchasing the phone i read all good reviews. I have faced some bad experience like dull camera quality. Photo by this phone is not good enough as per its specification 5 MP camera. It can not catch photo with good quality. how ever video is quite good.
And most important thing is you can see movie in this phone with good quality sound and clear vision just like watching movie on LCD screen....

why is wave s8530 "out of stock" for some time in bglore, even though its been released 1 month back????
Is it part of some samsung strategy or is'nt it tat good a mobile???

... moreThere is a shortcut bar at the top of the main screen. To access that tap on the middle of the top of the main screen, the bar with shortcuts will be dropped down.
You can access sound profiles from that and change from your choice. But you can change to the last accessed sound profile from there only.

The people who are shouting that Youtube video quality in Wave 8500 is not good are laymen who do not have proper knowledge and shout like a person from Finance background gets into a simple IT issue.
While the Youtube opens in a PC browser, it goes to the URL 'http://www.youtube.com', on the other hand while the Youtube opens in a browser in a handheld the URL is 'http://m.youtube.com' (even when you type www.youtube.com and click go, the browser redirects it).
It is simply the mobile version of the Youtube site which stores videos of lesser quality and smaller size obviously, to manage better compatibility (screen resolution and download time) in wireless mode.
Don't expect a Full HD (1080P) or HD (720P) video in general from the mobile version of the Youtube site and shout annoyingly anymore.
Rather try to locate the URL (the address of the website, to be noted) while opening any site from any handheld and you will be able to find the differences not only in Youtube but in most famous websites.

after using it for 2 days i got a problem of a green patch on the right hand corner of the screen.now i have returned(full box pack) it to the dealer after getting the doa certificate from service center of samsung since the problem developed within 4 days. anyone else have had this problem??

when will this handset be available in showrooms in NCR? it's such a pity that all competitors have launched and selling their sets at brisk pace. but samsung is nowhere seen marketing 8530. they may have accepted defeat.

i used to change the sound profiles often. is there any shortcut for accessing sound profiles or setting? there is one option called double tapping. wats that?
