Samsung details Android Pie features ahead of January 2019 rollout
Samsung is usually late on the OS upgrade and it appears the trend will continue with Android Pie as well. Samsung France asked the Samsung Members community to share the issues that they want fixed and features they'd like to see in the package. The post about the changes also clarified that updates will be issued in January 2019.
Some features that are already available on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note9 devices like adding an interval after typing a dot with the native keyboard. There will also be support for VoLTE and VoWiFi for older devices since the Galaxy S9 received it via OTA update. The keyboard will also have the ability to float during gaming sessions.
The update will bring easier access to videos in Gallery and UI fixes when opening the array of pictures through the Camera app. Other camera features will include using the flash in direct focus mode. We also know there will be a dark theme, new Quick Toggles and the navigation tabs at the bottom when apps are being shown.
