Since I got it last Thursday, i've been charging it everyday, and almost 8 hours charge each time.

So, up till today, that makes it about 6 times fully charging it, and 1 day leaving it at the Samsung Service center.

I've even tried to fully discharge the battery until you can't even power it up, and then fully charge it up, but needless to say, all I get is 8 hours top stand by time, phone being in my pocket, in silent mode, without making any calls or even receiving any calls or sms.

Thanks for the information mX9N. I has been very helpful. let me know if you try out the other features. I am waiting for the price to down since i will be traveling in August and will just get it then along with everything else i want.

I thought about the FM radio and it being available with the bluetooth headset and realized that most manufacturers build the antenna into the wired headset and thats why the headset needs to be connected for the radio to work.

I guess the next best question is if the FM radio antenna is external or internal? I am thinking external.

I don't think thats normal. My U600 battery will last nearly 3 days with light usage & 1-2 days if I makes lots of calls & play with it.

How many times have you charged it? it took 5 or 6 full charges to condition it before I started seeing longer life.

This phone is sweet. Everyone that has seen my U600 is left speechless with the phone.

Problem with the phone is, the battery gets drained really quickly. Fully charged phone, in standby mode, would last less than 8 hours. That is, fully charged, without using the phone at all to make calls or send text messaging. Even shorter if you use the phone.

Sent it back to Samsung distributor, and they checked the phone and the battery, and said everything is normal. I don't think it's normal for a phone to last only 8 hours in a day.

I rang Orange for a password on the mobile tracking. This option is not valid for my phone but Orange told they know two passwords for Samsung.
          These are 1111 or 00000000. (4 x 1 or 8 zeros)

Can someone answer a question please???

When I use predictive text to write a text it used to store words but now when I type a word it isn't storing them so I keep having to "Add" them. Getting a little annoyed with it now!!! Please help coz I love the phone.

To answer some of CE's questions...

You can create new folders to save / move files in, so not as restricted as the D900.

You can use any downloaded mp3 as a ring tone or message tone.

The most you can use at the moment is a 2GB micro SD card, I have one in my U600 & it works very well.

The keys are very nice, touch keys take a few days to get used to, but a bit of patience & now there excellent.

Not sure about the PC suit, or bluetooth headset question as I have not tried either.

Yes the phone has privacy features to add a pin code to see messages, files, or to do anything with the phone.

In my opinion there is no better phone than the U600 on the market at the moment.

i bought this phone right when it came out. it replaced my beloved d500. it took some time to get used to the sensitive touch keys. nice camera pictures. overall, i am satisfied with this phone. i would suggest to wait for the price to drop a bit more before buying. samsung does need to invent something more stylish. i think i might move over to nokia e65.

Whoever said that the D900 battery will work with this phone is wrong. I just bought a D900 battery and it is not even the same size as the U600 one. Not only does the battery move around when you put it in the battery slot, the back cover wont even close! What a waste of money! Maybe can someone 100% confirm that the x820 batter will work with the U600 phone because the standard battery is a bit lacking.

                        To owners of the U600:

Does the U600 have same restrictions on where files can be saved and move to or from as the D820/D900?
Does the U600 now allow the use of any ring tone file for message tones?
What is the maximum storage space that can be added to the U600 using is microSD slot?
How are the keys on the U600?
Can you still use the Samsung PC suite to send text messages with the phone connected to PC?
Do you know if wireless bluetooth headphone that is AD2P compatible, work with the FM radio?
Does the U600 still carry the privacy feature that is similar to Motorola that allows you to lock specific functions sections of the phone?

Just a few questions if you help me out with the answers.

Also does anyone know of any phone out there is better than the U600.

AdamH..i went into the orange shop and had a look at all 3 phones.the guys in the shop laughed at me when i picked up the n95 and told me not to bother because it WILL break down/crash and they have had several returned to the shop.they said that the k810i was a very good phone but admitted that the video playback wasn't very good.the k810i has 4MB bigger memory(64MB) and comes with a 128MB memory card BUT i went for the samsung u600 because it felt more solid and better made than the sony ericsson, was better looking than the sony ericsson and surely a phone that has the speakers and sound made bang & olufsson must be the choice for any sane person?.i'm now going to turn it on and have a play and will come back on here to let you know what i think....ps,the guy took a photograph with it whilst in the shop and the picture was awesome.
