Hey, can somebody please tell me how to turn the sound the samsung u600 makes when you send a text message? It's really annoying me!

I don't understand the problem with everyones battery life. I've had mine for 3 weeks now and have had no problems, I charged it on Wednesday night and still have 2 bars this morning, thats with sending messages and making calls, even taking pictures. Guess I must be lucky.
Not very keen on the texting set up but its bearable.

hey all. i'm off into town in a bit to get my free upgrade and im pretty certain im going to get the Samsung. after reading and reading about all the latest phones it just seems to be the best on offer. yes there are teething problems but isnt there with any phone? i'll let you all know how i get on with it in a few hours! :D

my u600's keypad does not operate sometimes when slid open.
is this a paticular problem with my phone?
or does it have to be unlocked everytime?
I just got it today but it seems to be giving me a problem.

just tried putting my photos and video clips on to my pc through a bluetooth dongle had no problems with my d600 but with the u600 the photo's come up blank is there any settings i need to change???

TO STEVE
you have to be in music player to press end call and multi task, if you are in the files menu, and playing sounds from there then end call exits the menu totally I hope this solved your problem

i HATE using this phone. writing texts is sooooooooooo frustrating as the ridge below the keypad makes it really difficult to use the flat, awkward buttons. t9 mode is something i rely on to write fast texts, but the u600's t9 is clumsy. when writing a predictive text you have to click the 'up arrow' key to choose the word option you want when you're at the top of the screen; but when the text gets longer than 4 lines, you have to press the 'down arrow' key to make your word choice - so you really have to watch what you're typing...if you press the up key by mistake you end up choosing the wrong word and it's a pain in the arse to correct your error...if you've even noticed that you've made a mistake.
the touch sensitive buttons on the screen area are far too sensitive. i've starting ring loads of people by mistake - something i've not been prone to doing with any of my previous phones. and i randomly keep connecting to the internet when i don't intend to either. it just time wastes.
the camera is a bit annoying too - the picture quality is great, but the thinness of the phone, and the fragility of the slidescreen mean that it's often quite difficult to hold the phone steady when taking a photo. and the menus on the camera is just a maneuvering-nightmare.
i'm definitely going to send mine back > it's driving me mental every time i use it.

i m planning to buy this phone. pls any user tell me ,how is camera quality and work ,mp3 audio and fm voice quality,gprs performance?
when i use apllication ,gprs or play games can play mp3 songs and fm in background?i mean during play mp3 or fm we use another applications gprs..so pls clear my questions thx

How do you multitask i.e. do other functions while playing/listening to music?Some people said to press 'end call' button to acheive this but when I did that the music stops playing!

johnmo76 manufacturers normally suggest charging for 8 hours for the first charge. leaving it to charge overnight the first time is also fine. its just important to fully discharge and then you charge until the battery says full after that. and then run the cycle twice, for a total of 3 times.

I have just got the new samsung u600 and I have to say I am very impressed I've always loved the look of samsungs but found the softwear hard to deal with as I am used to sony ericssons where you can do absolutely everything, but the u600 is now just as good, samsung have really pulled their socks up! Plus it looks really sexy too! but is definately a girls phone I think and my husband agrees! well done samsung keep it up!!!!!!!

8hrs is wack.
Did you send in the charger to be checked also?
Its either the battery or the charger, plus you may need to train the battery properly.
Charge then fully discharge for 3 cycles.

I would say there is something wrong with your battery... 8 hours wouldn't even last me a day at work.
Mine was charged yesterday afternoon, its been switched on ever since (not in silent mode) I have spent at least 20 mins on the phone, sent at least 20 texts & taken a photo... it still has 3 bars or battery!
does anybody else experience this 8 hour battery life?
