Hmmm.. i've bought my phone here in Sweden and:

1. The Alarm does not sounds when on silent mode (theres not such thing called "wake-up call").
2. I cannot set a personal SMS-signal for a contact, only ring signal.

My firmware is:
U600CPGD5

Interesting...

Well there you Najks, you have a very special phone.

      @ Najks
Well.. if i put wake-up when phone is on silent, the alarm actually sounds - even thought theres no actually sound on!

Ive tried this on 2phones here in sweden, works fine on both of them!

      /najks

Wake up???? I don't see an option called wake up!!!
      I see....
      Alarm name:
      Alarm activation:
      Alarm time:
      Recurrence:
      Alarm type:
      Alarm tone:
      Alarm Volume:
      Snooze:
      Repeat:
      Auto power up:

      but no wake up.

Once again what is your firmware???
And just to clarify silent mode to me is when you hold the hash key in idle mode, the phone then switches all tones off. just making sure we are on the same level.

To all those who think that its anoying with the bad battery-time(?) Just buy some extra batteries and a "tablecharger" for the X820!

Because of the compability, the battery for X820 also will work on the u600 phone!

It will work fine, allways have one batterypack in the charger, talk on..

Check on ebay for example, i bought 3batteries and a tablecharger for only 20$

            @ najks

7, If you have the phone on silent, and set the wake-up-alert, the phone Will sound in the morning.. even though its on silent mode

Looks like your phone is the only one where the alarm works in silent mode, i have been on atleast 2 samsung forums, and every poster has said the exact same thing, the melody does not ring when the phone is put on silent.

So thats intresting, you have a quite unique phone.

            What firmware do you have?????
if you don't know how to check, type in to the phone *#1234#

You are right.. well.. in fact i should correct some errors from earlier inputs..!

1, the phone has 4 touch-sensitive keys (two are placed on the frontdisplay, and the other two are the "call" / "end call" - i know this will irritate some, but fact these two also are kind of "touch-sensitive.. cause they dont really respond when pressed"

2, you can adapt your own ringtone to contacts, you can also adapt your own txt-message tone

3, the keypads takes a while getting used to, like every other new phone we buy

4, the cam has 3.2mpix, and a flash - only bright when pressing the cam-button (sad that we cant use this a a kind of flashlight)

                  5, Rds-radio, with ICE-system from B&O

                  6, No 3G, but EDGE

7, If you have the phone on silent, and set the wake-up-alert, the phone Will sound in the morning.. even though its on silent mode

8, the phone suports 2GB MicroSD (not 4gb)

9, the slidingmechanism is rather good actually, it springs back nice when opened or closed

10, and last but not least.. read the manual if u aren't sure about the phonecapabilities!

                  /najks

/najks you are correct, allot of people on here obviously don't have the brain capacity to adapt to a new phone... or even read the f'ing manual! most of the things people say it can't do it can - FACT! I have it here in front of me doing those things!!! anyway, its just a phone at the end of the day... is anybody really that bothered?

This phone is awful - what is the point of having so much stuff on this phone if it cant even do the basic stuff like make a call and text - what is going on??? I sent it back straight away before it raised my blood pressure too high - im texting someone - next second im calling them... please dont get this phone - it may look good but thats as far as it gets.

In fact - i cant understand why some say that you resets txt-messages, or delete things by accidently pressing the "C" "touch-sensitive button.."

... When in fact, the phone asks if you want to Save txt-message before you quit it...

Is it just me, or is everyone else wrong?

                            Just a little question!

Anyone knows the difference between Li-ion Polymer and Li-ion batteries for phones?

Some say that the Polymer-type has better stamina! But some say that there isnt such a thing as a Li-ion Polymer.. only Li-ion OR Polymer -batteries..

                            Someone, please help!!!

Comparing the u600 to LG shine?

Well LG Shine is a little more sturdier, but why does it only comes with a 2.0mpix cam?

The samsung may have some issues with the touch-sensitive key, but i think its only a matter of "getting used to"!

As for the Nokia N95, isnt that the one with GPS and 5mpix? Or is it the N97? Anyway the one with 5mpix and GPS isnt sturdy at all, in fact it wobbles a lot - because of the sliding mechanism that works both ways (1, to reveal the keypads, 2, to reveal the mp3-player function) And its about 20mm thick!!?

Well.. anyway, way must Nokia build such thick phones? Why cant they, like samsung try to diet down the unescesary size?

Here in Sweden the u600 has been availible in about 2-3 weeks now.. and every time ive tried it in a store - it doesnt seem to wobble that much, or have problem with the touch-sensitivt keys! The good thing that they thought of when they developed was that the phone is locked when your in a call (so you wont accidently press "hang up..")

                              /najks

Just got the U600 as an upgrade. Chose it over the LG Prada and already thinking I made a mistake. The touch-sensitive buttons, particularly the "c", are easliy pressed by accident and I have lost texts and games when half way through. The battery life seems very short as well. I do think the design is great and there are plenty of good features, but I don't think these make up for the faults. Probably exchanging it for the LG. Anyone compared the two? Thanks

i bougth the U600 without trying it before and i'v read all "bad" things about it. But still, i love the phone!!

Some people love their Nokia N95, for me it's a horrible ugly phone, but with great features.
The U600 combines beatiful looks and good ergonomics, packed with great features.
So for me, this phone rocks and i'm looking forward to future Samsung Ultra phones.

If some people don't like this phone and are not going to buy it, then why do they still posting comments here?

Yes, the review from the mobile-review.com was full of errors than the actual features of the samsung u600. It is very strange why they posted some false information. It is true that they only cut and paste the review from the samsung d900 and that's it.

Samsung U600 has some improved features compared to D900 (example customization of message tones and others).

Or course you are right, and I will test it as soon as it's available (where I'm from it isn't yet). The only reason why I wrote stuff here was because I just find it peculiar how some people absolutely love, say, the touch keys and others hate them.

Anyway, I guess U600 is questionable in a way that we all should test it too see for ourselves how good or bad it is.
