I agree with below, this should be for helping people make the discerning choice when it comes to a new purchase. Take the quarrels outside ladies

I cant believe the petty quibles people are getting into on here. Arguing and squabling about what phones should/shouldnt be bought for.. isnt this a phone review site? Does anyone have any useful comments about this phone? Is it any good?

While listening to MP3 song and Radio via the headphones,

      - For incoming calls and SMSs, will the phone main speaker still ring or it will be diverted to the headset? Are there options to set?

      - After ending a call, will the MP3 player or Radio automatically resume play?

      - After power off and on the phone, does the MP3 player resume play from the last selected song?

A bigggggggg no for all your questions

          Legend82,
You have got me wrong.... i love my U600! All I was wondering was whether the wobble part can be repaired... wouldnt call that being biased.
I had my eye on this phone for months before it was available, so you can understand the slight disappointment with it not feeling as solid as the other Samsungs.
It took me a month to get used to the touch sensitive keys - highly frustrating at first which almost made me send back the phone. Glad I kept it though. Just next time I will opt for a non-touch sensitive keypad.

Have been using this phone for 3 weeks. The reception is quite weak(as usual for Samsung phones) compare to my Moto A1200! My K1's reception is thh strongest out of all the phones I brought recently....EXCEPT the Vertu constellation.

it just seems like a ridiculous thing, perhaps the alarm does go off if the phone is in silent mode and switched on, but it definitely does not if the phone is switched off.

I think most people would imagine the alarm works normally, it is not an advanced feature and alarms have been on phones for years.

Its very weird, i just tried the auto power up function now.

1st... i tried the alarm when it wasn't on silent, I turned the phone offf and bingo the alarms tone wen't off.

2nd... I put my phone on silent then set the alarm and then turned it off.... the alarm only came on in vibrate and in the top of the screen it showed the "silent mode" icon.

I love the phone, but geez how could they f*ck up such a simple function. :)

                          @ Saveferris
If your so bothered about this, then why did you get this phone, surely you read the reviews before hand? Please don't insult me by saying I'm behind the times just because I don't slate a mobile phone for not having a decent alarm function - If it really is that important to you then surely you should have checked this out before you got it??

Hilarious... I have had this phone for over a month and half now, so basically i had the phone in the first couple of days it came out so no reviews,
2nd of all i didn't insult you just because you don't rate the alarm as a function, i insulted you because you said a phone was just for txt and calling, if that was the case people would be buying low end phones for just that, some people out there wan't more, thats why we buy the Samsung U600 Nokia n95 etc.., a phone to many people is a lifestyle now.

and thirdly, i have had every top of the range Samsung phones from the D500 600 900 and now the u600, i expected Samsung to have this alarm function in it just like its previous models.

                              Maybe some mistakes?

1, i cant either set a personal txt-message tone for each and every contact! What i meant was that i can choose wich tone i want for incoming txt-messages!

2, this is really strange, when i go in to the menues and set the phone on "silent", and put the alarm (aka. wakeupcall, alarm-signal etc..) it does go off!!

                              /najks

You're right about the personal sms tone for each caller, There is no option and i don't think there will ever be one.

as for the alarm, would you be so kind to explain in detail how you set up the phone to make it ring in silent mode.

also are you sure its in silent mode?? ( holding down the # key in idle mode )

and please what is your firmware?? you can check it by entering *#1234#

                              Thanks.

I apologise if this upsets anybody but last I heard, mobile phones were used for calls and texts, if your really that wound up about the alarm feature, why not try this.......buy an alarm clock :-)

This phone has excellent 'phone' features, which is more than enough to keep me happy

Sorry my friend but i think your're stuck in the late 80's and early 90's, Mobile phones are more than just txt and calling, its more of a lifestyle now, they do everything.

Alarm for me is important because i'm not always home, girlfriends house, holiday, buisness trips etc, and frankly logging around an alarm clock is one more thing i really don't wan't to woryy about.

not only does the alarm not sound when on silent mode, unless you select auto power up, the phone does not switch on, it just lights up for a second.

How could Samsung make such a shocking error? I do not wish to leave my phone on all night at the risk of being woken at 4am by a random text or call!

I think this will be rectified by Samsung once a new firmware is released.

                                      Hopefully soon.

This is my biggest gripe with the phone, other than that i love it.
