I don't think you can switch off the GPRS 'G', I have just spent ages looking though my U600 settings & there is no option to switch off. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

hey, i am deciding on buying either sony ericsson k800i or this samsung u600, but i am undecisive. does the samsung u600 have interchangable faces?

sony ericsson k800i has 3g, a front camera and you can change the face cover but its chunky

but the samsung is slim and attractive yet a short battery life, but i cannot get over the great look!

      some help please?

          najks,

You said that the gold and red colours were available. Have they actually been released yet?

                @ najks

i can set the alarm, wakeupcall, when in silent mode - AND IT GOES OFF!

That's the thing i said, the alarm goes off!

                What firmware do you have?
You can find out by typing *#1234#

I have been on other forums and many other people can't get the phone to ring in silent mode. ( silent mode is is holding the # key down )

Tell me step by step how you did it, so i can check if i wen't through the right procedure. i have had every model Samsung from d500 d600 d900 and u600 and have never had a problem with this.

Stop lying. It IS possible to use your own mp3 soundfile as message tone. This is new from previous samsungs.

                    To Lex,

Are you still around m8? Was still waiting to receive an update in relation to the battery levels of the U600 after using it for music for about 2 hours?

                    Regards

                    Warrior

This phone is amazing, it is so much better than what people have been saying trust me get it, I wasn't sure about getting it until i did and its just so good, one of the good features is where you can warp peoples faces BRILLIANT, its just like the sony K800i one, also i found that it takes just as good pictures and it has way more photo options on it - it has 46 frames to choose from!

                          To Jay:..

Maybe so, just havent been much of a Nokia fan :) Im on my 27th phone right now.. only used 6210 & 8110 in nokia..

But about the batterytime on u600, just buy a Li-ion Polymer battery, like for Samsung X820 - also works on u600, will expand batterytime will a few days more!

well take a look at the nokia E65 and its not a brick i have been looking at new phones for ages and the samsung u600 was at the number 1 spot until i tried the E65 it is just quality and you can add new apps to the phone to do more things. If theres not an option in the phone you want just get a app that you can install to do so.

all i am saying is try out the nokia E65 if you want slim line phones as this is just 2mm depper than the d900 i tired the e65 and looved it so went that root oh also you can make free calls all over the world if you have a wifi on your pc as you can set this phone to make free calls when your in your oen home you can not do this with the samsung.

the u700 is taking to long so i did not wait and the u600 battery was not good to but was going to get it untill i used and touched a nokia E65

The colors right now are gold, red and platinum-blue.. they probably come up with the other colors later, as so many other cell-phone manufacturers often do!

What is this thing i hear, about "viruses if disabled the pin-code for transfer files.." ?

Isnt the fact that the pin number you have to type in - when connecting to a Pc.. just a confirmation, so that no one else will transfer/connect to your phone thru BT?!
