to matth,

hahaha! what do you mean by "videos is beyond poor"? or do you mean "SAMSUNG'S VIDEOS IS BEYOND REACH BY OTHER MANUFACTURERS" well suit yourself.

Another thing if its the vibration and ring in message alert that bothers you then I do not care, because i used on calling more than to send messages and guess what? I can set my message alertS to vibration or melody or vibration then melody without affecting my incoming call alerts which is always set to vibration and melody or the other way around.

For some reasons you did not understand how to operate this phone, for one you can deactivate the indicative tones to eliminate the "message sent tone".

Your other comments are irrelevant! ha! you do not even know how to operate a bluetooth device properly.

Go SAMSUNG Go! and make Matth eat his heart out.

        to P@1G:
yeah thats right. 1990s are where its at.

the camera is good, on closer inspoection, but the video is beyond poor

what do message tones have to do with 'working an advanced phone'? it should be possible to remove the sent alert, but its not, and i find it offensive. the only option is to put your phone on silent, which i find to be an annoying work around

still bugged about the vibrate/melody feature. i,e. the inability for them to work together. again nothing to do with working the phone.its a flaw of the phone

            Michael

Thanks for your advise, had try the phone for about 15 mins just now at a shop... still not convince if i should change it. display is excellent no doubt about that, camera looks fine with me, but just wondering the sound quality that comes out from the earpiece it self. also a problem with it is that when transfering photo from a SE phone, it cant be display in the samsung phone, please advise, correct me if i'm wrong, cheers!

              To Katrine,

Yes, you can use the 'i' in the middle of the circle to say 'OK'.

I was thinking about the button in the middle of the wheel (the one with the 'i' on it). Can it be used as a OK button as well?
It can on my current Samsung phone.

I went to CarphoneWarehouse and played around with the Samsung U600 for about 15 minutes. My quick conclusion, the operating system was quite sluggish and when the touch buttons were pressed, you sometimes think, did i touch the button properly or not? The pressure required for the touch buttons is not much, but i ended up pressing the buttons too hard, because i had a few instances where i touched the buttons and i did not receive a response from the phone. All in all, i was going to buy the phone sim free but to be honest, in my opinion the phone is 'definitely' NOT worth £200. Existing users of the phone may say that you can get 'used' to the phone very quickly, but in my opinion, i could not see myself using the phone 6 months down the line.

Note: I am aware i only used the Samsung U600 for a short amount of time, so do NOT flame as this post is my personal opinion however, buyers beware, TEST the phone before you buy, because before i went into the shop, i was convinced it was the right phone for me, when i came out, it was clearly not what i expected.

                    to matthinton,

It is very obvious that you do not know how to operate and manipulate a advanced/high tech phone.

You better use a year 1990s model phones because that is compatible to you.

No comment about your post because everything you posted can be worked out.

                      To matthinton:

What are you saying? Does the camera change its quality when the picture is taken? Sounds weird?

also that unlock thing when you are in a call. really annoying. means you can't quickly hang up and dial again without sliding the phone. yes i know its only the press of a button but it just makes it fiddly

i can't believe samsung's absolute mess they have made here

the security code for bluetooth is lame.
the fact you can't have vibe and ring for messages is rubbish.
why can't you remove the message sent tone?
you should be able to change the options on the soft keys.
the camera is never 3.2 mega pixels. the qulaity is lsot as soon as a pic is taken.

                          looks good though :rolls eyes:

i may say U600 is better than K800i when it comes to features.

but K800i wins over U600 on battery talk time capacity.

both have 3.15 megapixel cameras but k800 has a image stabilizer so it became cybershot and comes with a not so powerful xenon flash while U600 comes with a LED light.

Shooting videos? U600 captures CIF while K800-what they call ancient-QCIF resolution.

Connectivity- U600 has EDGE while K800 has 3G

anyways, its up to you to decide which one to choose.

Why is the phone market in America so Lame. None of the companies here offer phones like this. We have to purchase unlocked phones from a third party and forget about connecting online w/ the phones cuz they are not compatible.

I purchased a D600 two years ago from a third party source and one of the companies here just started carrying the phone!?

                                    USA can really suck sometimes...

well maybe I have a duff battery as mine soes not last a full day, although I was using the features on the phone (radio, wap, MP3, camera) rather than just using as a phone for calls and texts.

The [G] on the screen is only to notify the User that they are within a GPRS area. If the user were to go into an Edge area then the Blue [G] would change to a Red [E]
This does not drain the Battery like some others have suggested.
