the main difference between the U600 and the U700 is notably 3G capabilities. U700, while a bit thicker, supports 3G whereas U600 does not.

@ vxew
i suggest you go for sony ericsson.
though i have my U600 right now, but am not satisfied with this..poor sounds when listening mp3 through earphone(bass is very poor), poor battery life. average lifespan 1 and half day.
camera is not suitable for high-speed images.takes more than 5 sec. to capture image. k800 is best.
but if you go for looks and design. then U600 is suited for you.

i bought this phone last december, what can i say... ah first the cons.
1. it has poor battery- i charged it 2-3 times a day for my first week coz i always used it and study it well coz this is my first samsung phone. now i charged it 1-2 times a day.
2. using FM radio in loud speaker is bad, not clear.
prons.
3. cannot play the wav tone format, cannot view the theme sent from nokia, se. cannot use amr format in msg and ringtone.
4. slow, using memory card.
1. with 3.2mp 4 forme almost perfect. my clasmate using k800i, when he used my phone, he said that the camera is better than his phone.
2. using the mp3 player in loud speaker and earphone is good and clear but not too loud.
3. i love its style, and also my clasmate just love it. it is thin.
i recommend this phone to those people who can appreciate and love the things it only can give.
when you need a 3g phone. for me, use nokia n series specially when you are in the philippines.
i also love samsung phone coz of its style clear lcd, clear camera.this is the edge of samsung.
question. i want video set as wallpaper but it always said that it is unsupprted file. what will i do? what format will i use? as far as i know video can make a wallpaper?plz help.ty

No this phone does not support GPS. You have to set the phone to your service provider to send pics or media messages. I do not see how anyone can fault a seller for your own shortcomings. This phone is very delicate, the paint peels and chips like crazy, the screen marks very easily. This phone is made out of thin, flimsy plastic. That is how they are able to make it weigh 81 grams. If you are someone who cannot take exceptional care of something, this phone i snot for you. It is the most fragile phone I have ever used. The slider is not nearly as robust as Nokia sliders. I have taken very good care of mine, and it still has a cracked screen cover and numerous dings and scratches. When I first got my phone I thought there was something wrong with it because of the large gaps and flexibility.

Hi niru,
hi people,
ive been reading the comments that alot of people have been putting down, i to have the u700 i like the phone, now the thing is i would like to know what you do to the phone for it to peel??? ive had this phone for 6 months now and it hasnt peeled yet and yes it dose send text messages when the slide is down cause you can unlock the phone by pushing on the centre botton (try it out)so try not to wear tight pants!!! the one thing i dont like about the phone you cant change the message alert tone but you still can use the phone :)

Forget about any Samsung phone ...they are un-reliable & they all break after a few months of use. Their phones are extremely slow(e.g. switching/searching for another network when travelling). I can write a long list of their faults, but I'm not going to waste time.
One word says it all:- Sucks!
If anyone looking for a new phone, I highly recommand latest offering from Sony Ericsson. Motorola & Nokia phones are also good in some respect....
