Mikey more GOSPEL and COMPARISONS bout the speaker. I'm going to once again compare it to my previous phone; SE w850i. The speaker can't compare, but with the ring and vibration feature you won't miss a call. It is a set back being you can set your mp3's as ringtones, but since no one can hear the phone it doesn't draw EXTRA ATTENTION to the most fashionable phone on the market. Finding things in the menu takes alittle longer, BUT EVERYTHING IS THERE and once you get use to it, it's a piece of cake...SOLID PHONE. CHOOSE CAREFULLY WHAT YOUR WILLING TO SACRIFICE FOR STYLE :)

Even more GOSPEL...The T9 for texting is very tricky especially for a novice user like myself and if you text alot I don't recommend this phone. I don't have a problem with fingerprints and the screen protector blends in nicely w/phone. U can slide the phone with ease by nudging the side of the phone. The MAJOR drawbacks are MINOR. The grid is tic tac toe and not as shown above and the MENU DISPLAY and EMOTICONS aren't as fun as I've seen on other SAMSUNG PHONES. Didn't even name the touch sensitive keys as a drawback CAUSE ITS NOT ONE! VERY GOOD PHONE not GREAT...SO STYLISH :)

Dear Maria ,
I saw your question on the U700 sms ringtones. To do this, your person you would like to add a different tone too, must be stored on the phone and not on the sim. If you want the persons name on the sim and phone, you can. But always apply the ringtone tro the name stored to the phone.

To Mikey, I'm going to address your question on the speaker and blast some of these other love hate opinions at the same time :) The speaker isn't that great, but it's not chopped liver either. With the headphones its more than adequate. To the love hate opinions about the touch sensitive buttons and not being able to program the soft keys...YOUR CRAZY. The touch sensitive buttons aren't that SENSITIVE and not being able to program the soft keys is SO MINOR I don't even no why you bother. I'm a novice cell phone user and I can operate phone with ease and its only my SECOND DAY. Have gone out in the sunlight with phone and the screens visibility is ok. You should make a personal choice on it. The only drawback is being that its my first SAMSUNG I wish the emoticons were more FUN like other phones, but the power on and off is AMAZING.

I would like to know, when you take a photo it shows that photo is upright but when you go look at it afterwards it is upside down.. Is there a way I can reset the setting for my photo's to stay in a upright position?? Please help as this is errotating!!

Unlike some of these lame opinions mine will be somewhat GOSPEL cause I have the phone to reference my opinion. Prev had sony w850i and the u700 sound can't compare, but it's adequate and sounds real nice with the headphones. I'm a novice cellphone user and touch sensitive buttons are not that bad at all as others would say. The T9 texting is alittle tricky though and not as good as my sony. Haven't used the phone outside but the reflectiveness is not bad and the screens colors are FANTASTIC. I'm having problems getting on the web, but that's why I have a computer :) Sounds strong when I call. It is the tic tac toe grid :( but I new that in advance. Some of the tricky functions detract from the phone, but the LOOKS and EXTRA FEATURES more than make up for the minor set backs.

hey uhm i love the looks on this phone i just like to know about the speaker what other phone can you compare the speaker with does this u700 have treble/bass in the speaker and does this phone have any downfalls... it looks nice but is it durable and is the slide durable too? email me or post on here pls thank you.

hi guys,
3 very important questions before purchasing this thing:
- does the click wheel act as the click wheel on iPods, ie can you speed up the search in a long list, like the list of 250 songs on the SD?
- how often do you need to charge the phone?
- how good is the onboard interne browser?

Dexter_10, you should probably check your slide settings (under phone settings). I have no such problems with mine.

Xinapray, finally got a T-mobile techie who knew what to do. MMS and web access now installed, very easy. Typical usage (SMS, bluetooth, music player for workouts, occasional pix) usually gives me a day and a half to two days battery lfe. Default location for pix, video and sounds is on-board memory, you need to change to card for all three. No problems with touch buttons; they're deactivated when you press "Talk."

Whatever you do, do not get one of these phones!!!Had it for a month now.Built-in speaker volume too low.Face scratches too easy.Keys are too sensitive i.e. calls gets placed on hold when you try to answer the phone.Switches to speaker phone whilst I'm talking. I loose calls when I try to answer the phone and when I try to hang up, it won't. Dare I carry on... Will never buy a Samsung ever again. Be aware, U700 SUCKS!!!

Great looking phone, I had a lot of compliments. But I do not find it user friendly, because of the "touch screen". I would be on the phone, and if it touches my face, it drops the call. If I go in my menu, and I rest my finger to the side, it closes the menu. So I will be the selling the phone very soon.

I have this phone for a week now, it is a Love and Hate relationship.
Love :
Stylish Design
Not too bad camera
Hate :
Touch button are too sensitive.
Volume even those max is still too low
Cannot customise Left Right Button, but can customised Dpad buttons
I'm selling it.

the guy below.. what do u mean its better for women? is it a compiment or what.. becoz women easily understands how things work than man are.. setting the video length is easy, juz click the settings of the video then find the play time.. weeewww

I got one of these for my wife just a week ago. the phone is stylish and useful but have to confess however my wife is satisfied with it, I'm not. batter life is shorter than my D500..this goes just for 2 dayz, camera is fine but camcorder drives me crazy, couldn't figure out how to record longer, it just records couple seconds even if there's a gig of empty place in memory card. But after all.... i believe this phone is perfect for a female.it looks good and that's enough :)

I wish to know if the samsung u700 is able to create folders in another folder which nokia phones do.
Eg; Creating a folder in a music folder to store your favourite songs.
I previously used a samsung phone once which is not able to have this function.Therefore, i switched to a nokia.Recently, my friend recommended me to buy this phone.I am considering.Thanks alot. :D
