Only got this phone a few days ago - can't say it's the easiest phone to use - camera quality is pretty decent - touch pad much too sensitive. Unlike the trusty Sony, no shortcuts menu, or games - does anyone know where I can get that from?

Excellent phone, good quality sound. Phone has no pre-installed games though, but very nice display, fast internet access, good camera. Battery life is okay, just slow internet access while connected to PC. Would suggest it to any client

for aussies in the know;
i've just seen an optus ad for this phone but i don't want to switch from vodafone -is the distribution with optus wholly exclusive or is there a possibility that it might come out at a later stage on vodafone?
i want to avoid a hong kong ebay purchase but i might have to just do that to get my hands on this phone

i receieved my new u700 today and i love it!! yeah it is a little sensitive, but only takes a little getting used to! very stylish! so many features! i just love it! the slide is great, not loose at all! i really cant fault this phone at all! dont hesitate in getting it! its fantastic!!

i just got the samsung u700 i think it's a great phone because of the middle button on it that turns and slides i think thats a unique thing on the phone for the rest of the phone it's just a standard samsung

Just purchased the U700 after a long wait and must say am very disappointed! I agree with many of the reviewers when they say the touch pad is wayyyy too sensitive! I have closed many menus accidentally and have had to continually go back into them! Very annoying! The shiny screen gets finger prints on it v. easily and like most people have mentioned the volume is low. My old samsung was heaps better. Looks hot but not practical!

When I insert 3 sim card, not all functions work, such as, mms, internet and bluetooth. Does anyone know how to set up the phone so that it's compatible with the 3 network? (AUS)

Well i just got the phone yesterday and didn't have to read the manual. Already i know everything about it! The problem is while text messaging and on the web i don't know what to press to get the underscore. Can anyone help me ? :S

Hey DPG, just wondering since you got the phone from OPTUS Aus, does the phone comes with Samsung firmware or does it come with a pre-install OPTUS firmware? just like what it comes with Vodafone contract..

Hi i have just ordered this phone on Vodafone which has vodafone firmware right?
i heard if you flash it with the samsung firmware it has an FM radio. is that true?

Note about software. If ur OS version is up and until Win XP you are fine. But those using Vista like i am and have tried installing the sumsung software, u will be pissed off that the software on the CD will not install and shows a message that the OS is not supported.
Anyway... S O L U T I O N:
Run the installation in XP SP2 Compatability Mode. That should do the trick!

about the slider, i disagree. Its more of preference. i like this slide because its an actual 'slide' and it feels nice when it slides. as for the front panel coming off, i got no idea what ur on about mate. So far this fone has not been fragile. ive even dropped it once (already!) -_-".

Held a working model in the shops. This phone is a looker at a glance. The longer you look at it, the duller it becomes. Very slim but slim phones are not for everyone, they feel too fragile to hold. And the sliding mechanism on this phone felt like it would loosen and the front panel would become flimsy after 6 months, just like every other Samsung slider.
The buttons on this phone is great though. Large call buttons make this phone real convenient and the numbers are actually quite nice to press for a slim phone.
