I know the vodafone branded U700v comes with embedded games (though they are test-only; like 60 sec long, and you must buy to play more) Not sure about the regular one..

          no mp3 as message alert.

talked to samsung and they said that the U600 simply was better equipped than the U700 (except for the SG-functions in U700)

U700 does not have (as the U600 has) vivid text, uMenu or Radio.. sorry lads.

How long is the battery life for this handset and does the Australian batch come with and external memory card, if so how big is it?

Just got the Samsung U700. It can play the melody & vibrate on incoming calls unlike the previous models. If you have largish fingers, I'd recommend against it because you are likely to press the touch sensitive buttons. But other than that no complaints as yet, besides the limited messaging tones.

To the person asking about EDGE.

It clearly states in the specification lists that it supports BOTH HSPDA and EDGE.

Can anyone summarize the differences between the U700 and the U600, is it just that the 700 has 3G capability instead of EDGE? Thanks.

Even though I am not too good with the fone yet, I can't seem to find a way to write sms and listen to music at the same time, there maybe a way but i cant seem to do it.

Correct, the U700 only support qcif video recording; -sad, but true..

Does anyone know if you can play songs whilst writing sms and stuff? I've seen many questions about the same, but no answer as far as I can tell.. anyone?

According to PhoneArena, you can view word, excel, pdf, powerpoint and .txt files with the built-in browser (NetFront 3.4) Link:

Stop trying to be a smartass. You think he doesn't know what phone he's holding in his hand?

                                      to theone,

whatever, still probably you have sony ericsson on your hand and not SAMSUNG, because i realy donot believe that u700 has that kind of video resolution.

Sorry dude I probably didn't make it clear enough, what I meant is that the max video resolution of the U700 is 176x144, and its defo the U700, I thought it would have equal or higher than the video resolution of the U600 but it doesn't sadly
