        have had this phone for almost two years and it is definitely NOT built to last! i have looked after my phone well, it lives in a phone sock and has never been thrown or dropped. the speakers were completely busted in a year, got that fixed and now the screen is all messed up. when i slide it out, screen pic now turns out upside down/mirror imaged then goes a funny colour and finally disappears and blackens altogether. will not be getting it fixed this time, will def get another phone, probably not another samsung!! good looking phone (apart from silver peeling on sides) but disappointing performance.

          I have been using U700 for almost 15 months and the screen freezes and goes white, there is nothing visible when the phone is closed. It had the same problem in the fisrt 5 months and was fixed. Is there anything that can be done to avoid the freezing and peeling of the phone?

                its a vry gud fon, but i hope u can find d solution about d ribbon, almost all samsung slide fons compare 2 nokia has a vry poor quality ribbon

                  this phone are very reliable in 4 weeks after that it will put you in to mess... my phone silver coating, the flex, and sensitivity are the common head ache i experience.. but the most awful is that i dont even send message and even to call up my on beside phone. (i did this to other mobile no. disregard networks) this is truly waste of your money. if you have to invest in this kind of c.p. try not to... to humilate your self...

                          Sa mga nagtatanong about how to activate the gprs settings on your U700..here,s the manual settings..GLOBE ONLY!

                          GPRS SETTINGS:

                          1. From Menu, choose Settings>Network Settings>Connections
                          2. Press the left Soft Key and Create a New Connection by choosing NEW in the option.
                          3. Enter the following parameters in the field requirements
                          • SET NAME: MyGlobe CONNECT
                          • ACCESS NAME: www.globe.com.ph
                          • AUTH TYPE: Normal
                          • USER ID: Blank
                          • Password: Blank
                          • Protocol: HTTP
                          • Home URL: www.globe.com.ph/globe.asp
                          • Proxy Address: 203.177.042.214
                          • Port: 8080
                          • Linger Time( 300 Sec)
                          ADVANCE SETTINGS
                          • STATIC IP (Unchecked)
                          • STATIC DNS (Unchecked)
                          • Traffic Class: Interactive
                          4. Click OK and click Save
                          5. Click Back and Go to Browser Settings.
                          6. Choose MyGlobe CONNECT as default in Browser Settings

                          MMS SETTINGS:

                          1. From Menu, choose Messages>Message Settings>Multimedia Settings> Multimedia message profiles
                          2. Press the left Soft Key and Create a New Connection by choosing NEW in the option.

                              Anonymous, 22 May 2009I like the feature of this phone but the only problem about... moreeven if you are very careful on handling your phone, i don't think that after a month that the slide was fixed it'll be damage again..I don't really recommend this phone, your money will be put to waste!

                                    iv'e been using this fone for 8 months now..and i can see any problem..the silver finish is good..the flex is good...everything on my u700 works fine...i guess its in the user...take good care of youre fone...

                                      I definitely agree on what you've all said. The flex is easily broken and this phone is really not practical :| not so satisfied of what I got. I've been owning it for a year now and I wanna replace it ASAP. Any recommendations? :)

                                        this phone is a waste of time 1st the display text goes upside down then your phone screen stops working its like the 3rd time this has happend
