I've had this phone for 6 months now and all shimer silver painting has finally come off. It looked great at first - then started to peel (looked terrible) now all paint off and looks ok. My "Back" button on touch screen is completely gone and is very very annoying. Whilst its a great looking phone - would not recommend to any of my friends.

the phone was great in the beginning apart from the 'silver' painted finish peeling off after a few weeks. I have had mine for less than a year and it is already having issues with the touchscreen. the lights blink acknowledging your touch but nothing happens and when i slide it open it is non-responsive. some things are good in that it saves & recognises previously dialled numbers as you dial BUT that's about it really. if you want something that lasts don't get this handset

hi guys. can you give me some piece of advise coz im planning to buy one(this unit). Can you give me some feedback about this phone. Does this phone broke easily?? coz if dies ill better switch in buring another brand!! tnx.

Does updating the firmware help?

hey can anyone help me. i just got a u700 2 days ago and everything was fine. now today i look on my phone and see that its stuck in an endless loop or reboot. that it the loading screen comes up begins loading then blacks out and starts again. i cant even access the home page or anything on the phone. what should i do?

The phone would not make outgoing nor accept incoming calls. I sent the phone overseas for repair to Samsung UK as I was told by Samsung USA. Then Samusung UK told me to send it to Kuehne and Nagle, which is their electronics manufacturer and I had to mail the phone to them. After 6-7 weeks of constant hassling back and forth, they tell they the unit is a non-UK unit and they can't repair it. Naturally, you can understand the level of frustration and irritation. I just got fed up for being run thru loops and said give me phone back. I love the phone, but after this experience, I wouldn't advise anyone to get the phone since many have had this similar problem. Now I don't know what to do. If anyone has any solutions, PLEASE share... haksingh@gmail.com . It would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Its a terrrible piece of handset. I've had for 7 months and it has been to repairs twice. The skin is peeling off...just dont buy this phone and waste your money

Its a crap phone straight out! Dials on its own, the browser just quits for no apparent reason the only good thing about it is the slim design and HSPDA other than that dont waste your money on this phone. Will never go for a samsung EVER!

I work for Optus. Never have I seen so many of the same model phone come in, and with such a wide range of problems. Please, for your own sake, do not purchase this phone. It will cause you endless frustration.

Samsung dont allow sms tones to be changed from the generic ones that come on the phone.

well i got this fone cos i like samsung fones never had a bad one last one was d900 and it was great. wot a bad choice i made. message alert tone is crap it only makes 3 beeps and its so quiet i cant hear it. i keep missing messages i find them like half hour later after i get them. the volume does go up and down all the time when im talking to ppl. not played much music on it yet but it seems ok. camera is ok takes good pics. blue tooth is fast but u can only do one item at a time how annoying i have found it. wont get another samsung prob go back to nokia again. just got my daughter a sony erricson w580i wot a great fone wish i had one myself. stay away from a u700 series

Damn...there are so many bad comments regarding this phone...I was thinking of getting it only cos the package comes with a free dstv decoder & installation...but with all the critic i dont think i want to sit with a problematic phone...dstv will be great though...lol
