well,. when it comes to the peeling, there's a plastic protector that you can use,. and it cost cheap. i like it's music player especially when the headset is plugged on, it's like you're using an ipod.! great sounds,. and it's so skinny, yet not too thin. it's stylish too with all the sensor and everything.

blay: don't bother going through optus, just contact a samsung service centre and they should fix it under the warranty for free -that's what i did.

s it true? That the peeling off problem has been solved by Samsung? Please confirm this especially to those who bought their phone here in the Philippines. Thanks.

Finally I had found a phone that seemed to have it all, looks and qualities. I was all set to buy the Samsung U700 but after reading all this about the peeling problem, I am so depressed. I have a motorola v3x which also has a peeling problem, apart from which it is a good phone.

i'm from australia and have the u700 on an optus plan. apparently you if you have peeling problems with your samsung you can take it back to optus and have them repair it....for a fee

i took it back to the shop but the girl said that my insurance fee doesn't cover the peeling paint because it was classed as 'physical' damage. then she showed me the store phone which they say that they've had for 6 months and it didn't have a peeling problem. i tried to argue that that's because they dont take it everywhere with them and didn't use it nearly as much as an everyday person but she just wouldn't listen to me.

i've also been a long time fan of samsung like some of the people in this thread. the last phone i had was the D600 which was fantastic. but now, samsung refusing to acknowledge this issue, it's turned me away. i'm looking forward to my next phone which is either the Nokia N95 8GB or N96.

                      the truth is this:

i got the phone november 2007, started feeling after 2 months, now looks like crap. i read all the comments about how everyone says that the phone peels before i bought it. i thought they were over reacting, but they were right. PHONE DOES PEEL, DON'T BUT IT!!

does anyone know where i can change the messaging settings so all the msgs i received go onto the phone/mem card before the simcard??

ive looked everywhere on the phone!!!

its very frustrating when i can only have 180 msgs on my phone bcoz my simcard always fills up and im having to move them constantly

                                please help!!!!

i have had this phone for 6 months and absolutly love it. i have had none of the problems with peeling or software functions and love the format and style of it. some of the functions are buried pretty deep in the software and saving your music/photos to the memory card is a pain but over all i rate it a 7/10. my only advise would be to get a plasic shell because the large screen is not protected from knocks.

The Carrier Logo is coming from the SIM card
so you cant remove it from your phones.
