i've used this phone for more than 2 months.
for those people with software issues regarding locking, or weird messages, i think the problem is only with ur handset because this does not occur for many asian users. overall, i find it a great phone with brilliant design and acceptable features plus its high speed internet.

I have only just had this phone as an upgrade, but already there are a couple of things that are a bit annoying. Why does it always come up "conditional forwarding" when making a call? and can i remove this? Also even though i have the phone open and unlocked, when you want to end a call you have to press unlock before you press end-call button. I guess this is to stop any accidental ending of call with the touch keys, but it is annoying!

I have Samsung U700 for about 6 weeks now. This is my evaluation of the phone so far, considering both negative & positive sides:
POSITIVE SIDE:
1) it is light, sleek & very stylish.
2) 3.2 megapixel camera provides a decent picture quality image.
3) mirror reflection of the phone is unique & handy.
NEGATIVE SIDE:
1) the battery of the phone gets really hot after a 10+ mins conversation and hence very uncomfortable to hold the phone.
2) phone speaker is very soft though it's on maximum.
3) touch screen function has some delayed activation.
4) 1GB memory card doesn't work properly as files saved on it can't be opened.
5) typing sms/message function is not practical e.g. common symbols like ' or $ are not readily and easily accessed so it is very inconvenient when needing to type a quick message.
6) direct phone charger is not working. I have to charge the spare battery only and change battery everytime one runs out.
CONCLUSION:
Overall, I gave this phone 6/10 because it doesn't satify my daily needs. If it wasn't for the stylish & sleek look, I wouldn't keep it.

I have been using a D600 for the last 2.5 years without any problems at all !!!.
I bought an E250 at a dirty cheap price 2 moths ago, I find it to be ok, not more not les, it is a great donkey that does the work, the sound quality on the speaker is a bit poor, I like the radio feature and find the ear plugs sound much better than the speaker. For what I paid I am very happy,
Last week I bought a U700, the main reason was the 3G, HSDPA, I am greatly disappointed with the phone,
It sound quality on the speaker is poor and does NOT compare to the D600 at all !!! The presentation of the whole menu and sub menus did not impress me, it is slow to navigate around the setup and functions,
One can NOT set deferent sounds and volume levels for the slide action and keys, in general it is a bit of a crappy phone (not to mention the soft keys problems) But I decided to keep it cause the price was cheap and I use it entirely for the internet and as a fast HSDPA modem. I still carry around my D600!!!.
Hope it will help potential buyers.

bought this phone last sept and in just a matter of weeks, the peeling of the silver part starts. good thing i immediately decided to g-mask it, thus the peeling stopped. but it doesn't have that elegant look anymore. for those planning to buy this kind of phone, don't!!!
