The worst thing about this phone is the messaging ... if you are typing in normal mode (IE not T9), any word you type, whether it is spelt wrongly or not, is automatically added to the T9 dictionary ... and the worst part is that it is added as the first word.
Has anybody else had this problem and managed to work around it somehow?? Email me please...

to remove the sound of the keypad
on standby mode press the volume key the one that s negative.

I had this phone for less than for over a month now. I have no problem with the peeling part cause I'm very good at keeping my things in tip top shape. Mine is the pearl black version it reminded me of the Nokia 8 series, those phones were awesome I had all of the series from 8810 to 8910i except the new which is pretty expensive. This phone is very slick you can pair it with suites aor just casual wear and it fits perfectly. If were talking about applications, it does the trick for a small phone. Although, what bothers me is that i hav to agree with the others that it has to be charged after 2 days. I guess it's normal from what I read with the other comments. But I'm interested with the one that can keep hers 4-5 days max. How'd you do that?

Is it possible to get rid of the carrier name? like AT&T, T-mobile, etc... I've been searching for options but I failed to find any.

i need help with downloading games. i don't have any games at all! i tried to download from the net and directly from gprs/wap sites but once i try to install it, it says UNSUPPORTED FILE TYPE
i spent over PhP300 already just trying to download. its not much but i just spent money for nothing!
PLEASE HELP!
PS. and the peeling sucks i know. i covered the peeling up with the use of a crystal case though, but when i remove it the peeling is very noticeable already, makes the phone look cheap and mishandled.

u just have to change the recording settings; just go to RECORDING MODE, you'll find the options 1) LIMIT FOR MMS-which is why it only records for 14secs 2) 10 sec 3) 30 sec 4) For full memory

nope few upgrades just to make the firmware to u708 is not worth it for me, speakers are weak and sound little so i just keep it in a vibrate mode,

hey guys i read all the opinions and i didn't find any opinion that giving me good reason to buy this phone...i think that this phone has a problem with charging and like other phones by samsung with slide design...

okay thats truee.. but i dont i see it this way .. ipods?.. dont they get scratched and such if just leave as it is .. do they get replaced? NO.. cause thats ur personal preference to keep it without a casing of some sort.. but like what ive been readng most of these users are aware that the u700 is all bout the sleek stylish design and figured (given) that its delicate as well .. hence .. maybe try hte GMASK thing .. or the clear case ....i dont know if u look around why are people selling these "clear case" for practically every phone 'now' .. cause phones are becoming more delicate than usual :)

msanv: acutally, the peeling is not a matter of people mistreating the phone -the peeling is a manufacturing fault and samsung are actually replacing the faces of the phone under the warranty (i.e.: for free).
