I went to switch on my phone this morning and it won't switch on at all - the touch screen keys light up and remain like that and it won't switch off either. It's practically new - I've only had it for 1 month. Has this happned to anyone?

u700dxgk1 my sw version
i am a nokia user for a long time and a SE user also, i agree that nokia phones are user friendly and SE phones are feature packed, they all have their strengths samsungs strength is in its slimness and the way it shouts elegance when you are holding a u700

I've had this phone in the U.S. for about a week now. Popped in my T-Mobile SIM card and got a program from T-mobiles webesite so that I can get and send picture messages. Internet function does not work here in the U.S. since it's a U.K. based program. No biggie.
As for the phone, it's not great for U.S. customers. It looks awesome, dont get me wrong, but the slide mechanism could use a heavier spring, because instead of popping up or down, it just kinda goes as long as you push it. For an "Elite Series" phone, I'd expect it to be flawless. My T-619 was a great slider. The 'send' and 'end/c' keys are easily pressed when resting the phone against shoulder, and have hung up on a couple people accidently which is kinda annoying. Camera is great, as is screen clarity. Also, texting is not as convenient as U.S. based phones. Takes a few more steps just to send a text which gets tiring. I'm going to give the phone another few weeks, but if I don't get any more used to it, it's going back up for sale!
Hope this helps!

this phone ain't good as much as nokia phones
to Sumsung user
The thing is, Samsung phones are much cheaper than nokia phones... And nokia phones have higher depreciation value than Samsung phone...
We have our own preferences anyway... I respect your opinion...

Personally I like u700 very much.I don't think battery life sucks. My phone lasts 4-5 days. The only problem I've noticed is that it stores sms in the SIM memory, though I am sure it can be fixed.Ok u600 was good, but come on,this is a piece of art!
You can actually transfer your messages into your phone... Didn't you know that?? And sometimes, your messages will be saved in your sim, and sometimes in your phone...
TIP: Explore your phones... =)

It's not Samsung's fault that the phone you have chosen to buy did not fit your preferences...
The soft key- I've had my u700 for a month now and I've gotten the hang of it... Of course if it's your first time, you will have a little hard time getting used to it...
peeling - I dunno... I have dropped my phone already like 3 times yet it still did not peel... The thing is, I have put a crystal case on my phone to avoid that... I agree with Jermz... It is a delicate phone... However, there is a what we called "GMASK" here in the Philippines... It could protect your phone...
I agree that it's very eye catching... So many of the people I know are envious of my phone...
I agree with neale... It's bizarre that samsung haters would actually buy a samsung phone...

Just bought this phone and I'm a bit worried. It's so not user-friendly! And I'm just wondering if it has the "Ü" smiley like other phones do..?

The camera is good, bt the peeling issue is very dissappointing-makes the phone to look very cheap. It does funny things like being over responsive! What else can I SAY, OK first time users in advance phones, i just dont recommend it.

This is the worst phone I have ever had - battery last for 2 days max, touch pads do not work everytime, it is sooooo slow to repond to everything and everything, can't see the screen daytime, silver has peeled etc, etc, etc. What worries me the most is that in these reviews, soooo many people seem to be pretty happy with this phone???? Please does anyone else expereince what I do???
Give me back my 5 yr Old Erickson.....
