I recently purchased the U700 and could not be happier. The design is sublime and the features are above par considering the phone relies mostly on its beauty. The 3.2 Mp camera captures some searious photos and auto focus is terrific. I do however have one problem with the phone, I have trouble reading the screen during the day.

if only u700 was designed with features of N82 and a metal casing like LG Shine, NOW that would be THE PHONE.

Well i only needed sim card from any mobile network,and i saw add when u make a conract (thats anly what i needed coz iam tired of filing sim card again and again) u get that phone really cheap like 1/4 price or even lower.Also alot benefits for using 3g.So i decided to get that phone just to use 3g networks,i dont blame anyone i knewet that behing pretty design hiding crappy samsung UI.Just i really honestly woudnt recomend that phone for hard users,as a fashion accesory its quite cool:)But there the advanteges of "Stylish HSDPA slide with music" (love the add :)) ends:P My "horse" Nokia 9300i still the best:)

I want to upgrade my u700 firmware to asian u708, but I heard that upgrading your firmware using some software, changes the phone's serial number. How true is it?
If you know a good software/firmware that doesn't alter serial number, please let me know. Thank's.

my call and end call keys aren't very responsive either compared to the other touch-sensitive keys... i'm not sure if it's normal tho.

@VL
i supposed you test the phone first before you buy the particular phone. when you nbuy a phone without aptly knbowing it and test it and later regret it, whos' fault is that?

Bought this phone becouse it looked really n ice slim and stylish and light.But i felt like i was fooled.The back plastic is crappy cheap scratches very easily.The scroll wheel is just annoying its just useless i mean its much more comfortable to use it like 4 wau navi key.Also all the rest touch sensitive keys r kinda close to scrollwheel very often u accidently can press "end call key" its very annyoyng when u r in web or in the middle of smt its just terminates what ever u do:)And if u look closely at the phone u can notice that the phone does not have such quality like it looks.All the interface its just childish,all the sounds r childish to.i had c100 samsung before(was very unhappy) and i promised never buy samsung phone again,i broke my promise and i was disapointed again.So if u want to buy that phone just like accesory maybe its ok but use it dayli as phone its just crap believe me.

Middle thing IS a scroll button AND a 4-way directional key pad...
I don't use it as a scroll button... too annoying.
Love this phone, love the music player.
Waiting to get housing for it to do a housing swap!

Hey guys,
Is the circular wheel on the front of the phone a scroll wheel, meaning can it be turned clockwise and counterclockwise in direction? Or is it the conventional 4 way push button?
Thanks for your replies!
Cheers,

msanv: acutally, the peeling is not a matter of people mistreating the phone -the peeling is a manufacturing fault and samsung are actually replacing the faces of the phone under the warranty (i.e.: for free).

I am not sure I like the phone. My previous was a sumsung D600 which I loved. Can someone please tell me about downloading ringtones for this phone. I believe they have to be in MP3 format. I have logged onto optus zoo to download but they only support trutones.
