Hi
I was thinking about buying this phone because on the specification list it says it can play real video player. Has anyone tried downloading video files from the computer to the u700 and can tell me about the quality of the video and whether you can watch it horizontally.

I have had this phone now for about a week. Certain bits of it I love, the camera, the music, the lightweight. I am even getting used to the sensitive touch buttons.
I do have two complaints though and I did ring Vodafone and they were not sure about the answers to these so have recommended me the G600 instead.
My two complaints are.....If you listen to the DJ music (not the mp3) then you are not alerted to incoming calls. In addition to this the person calling you receives and engaged tone.
Secondly, if I dial an automated phone, as in..press 1 to...press2 to... press3 to... and so on, then when I press the numbers for the different services the phone thinks I am dialling another number. It then says wrong number and cuts me off. Very frustrating.
Vodafone were not sure if it is a fault on just the one I have or not.
Soooo stick with it and put up with the two problems I have or change to the G600. Few days left to decide....

I was thinking about getting this phone but after reading the other opinions, i seen alot saying that the paint was coming off. Should i get this phone???????

samsung u700 is the handset 2 get so stop bat things about the cell phone.

This is by far the WORSE phone I ever got.Why?
1.After two weeks the scroll wheel lost its function,
2.The battery is disaster...200 h stand by?What kind of hours?Of 10 minutes each
3.Like many others users, the paint on the side is coming off .
4.The volume on the ring tone....the impossibility to read the screen in sunlight ...etc, etc, etc, etc.
Oh and I forgot to mention, I sent the phone to repair at a Samsung center in Milano(i bought it in Italy), had to pay 30 euros...for shipping and guess what ...?after 3 weeks ..came back nice and sexy..exactly like I gave it...but with a nice sticker saying "warranty seal"....
Samsung sucks big time..at least with this phone.....definetlly a no-no...

im working in the telco industry has anyone heard of a problem with the sms. ive had a few little rumors telling me there is a handset issue im waiting for mine to come in but im a little nervous

One other thing, does anyone know if there is a way to save the user name and password with the built in netfront browser for sites such like gmail and yahoo mail. It is such a pain to have to input it every time >

I just got the phone 2 days ago. One thing I noticed is there seem to be a maximum length to the emails you can download with the built in pop client. Even if I set the max download size to 500K, a simple text email only a few lines still gets cut off near the button. I can't seem to find the setting to change this anywhere, anyone have any ideas?

I have had the phone for 2 weeks and it's great to have. Stylish & fully loaded at the same time. Although, speakers are a bit soft but music sounds real good with headphones. Camera quality is excellent as well, but is a bit slow. Picture is saved after a slight delay after pressing the camera button, so one has to hold the phone still for a second or 2 after taking the picture. Touch keys are a bit more sensitive, but are fun when u get used to them. All in all, guyzzzz buy n enjoyyyyy.

Im a salesman in the mobile industry and deal with phones on a daily basis, and i think this phone is not as good as they make it out to be, 1. the interface is slow, 2. the crome effect (well thats excatly what it is "effect") i got the phone a month ago and most of the paint has come pealed off and the screen scratches easly, 3. The music quailty is not the best (very quiet), 4. You cant use mp3 as your message alert tone only the default tones, 5. I think the touch sensative buttons maybe to sensative.

Hi everyone i love the fone but one problem i have, the ringtone is too low, cant even hear the phone ringing plz help me thanksi have the phone too the max volume but still cant hear it...

I got this phone and i had trouble from the beging.{No signal} if i turn off and on agin i get signal for 20sec.I went the next day for swap for the same phone and it did the same.This phone is shi... and slow.Do your self a favor and get a Nokia its still the best. Samsung is good in making washing machines...I got nokia E65 the best no problemo.....

@@@ nilo ... You are right, the u600 is faster the u700 :( sad...
Anyway, is there anyone that could help me with the emoticon in SMS.. Why cant i see them as a figure / icon.. Im only able to see it as a text.... like this :) :-)

Silver paint coming off

Hi all,
I was wondering if someone else is facing the same problem. I've had my phone for about 3 months now, and last week I noticed that the silver paint (mirrorish looking paint) that is on the left and right side of the screen is coming off. It's not so much scratched. Instead, it looks like small pieces of the paint are coming off. I am surprised by this, since all my older samsung cell phones didn't have such issues.
Just trying to figure out if this has happened to others as well.
