I was about to get rid of this phone because of poor battery performance but then I heard about Foryo 2.2. I've started loving my phone since I've upgraded it's firmware to Foryo.
No more battery problem now and phone responds really really fast.. apart from GPS, well I'm sure that's hardware problem.

Can I use it in South asia? If I use a software unlocked Vibrant in lets say India, what might be the problems I can face? I mean all features like gprs,android market etc will work properly?

The Swype feature for t... moreAs a DISH Network employee I have had access to our TV Everywhere option for a few months now, and I have to say it is probably the coolest thing I have seen since DISH launched software to integrate our receivers with Google TV. It makes my Vibrant so much better by being able to watch my live TV or DVR recordings on my phone from wherever I'm at. The large screen on my Vibrant is perfect for watching a TV show or movie. And with no additional monthly fee I have to say, I love it.

This phone overall is really sweet. The Swype feature for text entry is an awesome feature and the ability to use it as a mobile access point for other wireless devices is great to. However the sync feature for my Windows Live cotacts does not work properly as some contacts have misssing info. I've also had lots of trouble with using voice commands through my BlueAnt T1 bluetooth headset which works flawlessly on my LG Rumour.

anyone..... know how to use this phone as a WIFI transmiter, so you can connect your computer to the internet wirelesly??????
i am using "easytether Pro" apps to connect my laptop with the phone's internet by the USB cable.
Is there a way to use the phone's internet with the laptop wirelessly?
any advice would be great.

Actually the update did fix the gps in my vibrant but it doesn't work as good as my cousin htc 3g slide, maybe hardware? We finally receiving our promise froyo update but very late in the game! This update better make the software smoother because my vibrant is laggy still fora 1gh phone.

Could be very good phone phone but broken GPS, missing Froyo in 2010, and lack of support from Samsung make this phone a complete failure.
JI6 update, released to fix GPS - another failure.
GPS Restore by Samsung blaming consumers for broken GPS while not fixing anything and broken by itself - yet another failure.
Missing, but promised by the end of 2010, Froyo update - lies and failure again.
