Samsung working on Galaxy Home Mini 2 smart speaker
Remember Samsung's Galaxy Home smart speakers? You'll be forgiven for answering no, but apparently Samsung plans on having another go at them. Per Max Jambor on Twitter, Samsung is working on a new Galaxy Home Mini 2 speaker.
So far Samsung has made two smart speakers - the Galaxy Home, and the Galaxy Home Mini. They are both powered by Samsung's own Bixby smart assistant, but they were never really on sale.
You could have gotten the Galaxy Home Mini with a Galaxy S20 purchase in South Korea, but that's about it. Still, it looks like Samsung isn't giving up on selling its own smart speaker.
Galaxy Home Mini 2 (SM-V320) isn't too far away anymore, I can tell you that😉 pic.twitter.com/xtV6z4645Y

There's really no information about the hardware or the software at this point. There could be a Galaxy Home announcement on the Galaxy S22 series event on February 8.

It will make sense if they allow other voice assistants to be installed, otherwise no chance against Alexa which is dominating in the US. Other countries don't really use voice assistants in real life because they're mostly in english.

I have a Google Nest hub right now, but I'd definitely buy a Galaxy Home Mini for my bathroom or a Galaxy Home with a screen if they develop one that's decent enough.

Samsung is big on all types of smart home appliances, so probably a good amount of people. The real world, outside the fake gadget community, isn't filled with Google astroturfers.
