To vargheese,

Hi,i'm too from india.i have tried the code to check EDGE and it shows the same as usman told.so there is no doubt that samsung X700 launched in india has edge.I'm using HUTCH sim but it shows only G signal.maybe my network does not support EDGE.i will contact my service provider for EDGE related service.

    I am from pakistan.... I don't know the version launched in india but i can confirm you that X700 launched in my country has EDGE Class 10.... Please confirm that your service provider is providing EDGE feature and your area is included in EDGE network.... Samsung X700 is 100% EDGE compatible because i can see the “E” logo when i uses "Telenor" sim but with "Mobilink jazz", it only shows “G” logo.... There is nothing to do with internet setting on your phone because EDGE uses same GPRS settings....

    To check the EDGE class of X700, enter #*3273# in standby mode .... You will see "EGPRS multislot class 4" .... It means that it was already adjusted to class 10.... Again enter above code and you will see "class 8" .... Again enter code to see "class 9".... then after entering 4th time above code, you will see "EGPRS multislot class 10".... Now, your mobile has been again switched to EDGE class 10....

      The version of X700 released in India does not support EDGE. So dont buy this phone if you need EDGE support.

        To shift: Please wait some time , about 10 / 15 seconds till you see that "Multiple video formats converter" screen.

          Usman,

          Nothing happens after i click "Multiple Video Formats Converter". Reinstalled the programs still the same. Nothing happens.

            To Shift:
            There is no difference.... Just open “MPEG4 Direct Maker” software and click to "Functions" menu and then open “ Multiple video format converter”.... Now, go to “Options” ....

                  Can anyone tell me if it's possible to make videos and play videos in wide angle (full screen) and view pictures in wide angle on my x700. And is there any way i can upgrade software like nokia to make videos in MPEG4 format. Please help! I really wanna keep this phone!

                        Hi,
                        I was trying to edit song thr' samsung PC studio, I needed a part of music from perticular song for ringtone. But, I was not able to select portion of that or any song and copy/cut option in toolbar are disabled.Kindly help, how to edit.

                            Hi Shift! For info about how to use "MPEG4 Direct Maker" software, read my previous post on september 7, 2006.... Enter "DVD" in search opinion text box and press "ENTER" key from your keyboard.... You will find this post.... If you want to remove 30 days limitation from this software, then send an email to me.....

                              May i know how to use the MPEG4 Direct Maker that u using to make .mp4 files? I have download the free version but still not quite understand how to convert any videos.

                                hey, Ive got an X700 from a friend, who used a different service provide(orange) to what my simcard uses(O2). I got the network lock removed today, but I think all the settings on the phone are designed for an Orange simcard. The main issue I'm having is when I go to 'network selection' and select 'manual' it says Not Allowed.
                                I tried doing this again with an Orange sim, and it worked. How can I get it to let me do this with an O2 simcard? (because of this, it won't let me get signal! please help!)
