Yes! When i changes the sim card, the total call time resets to zero.... I don't know the secret code if it is available!

To Mud:
If you have changed the audio settings from test menu code ( *#8999*8378# ) , then try this full reset code in standby mode:
( *2767*3855# ) .... and you will get factory settings again.... but before doing this, transfer all your data into memory card or PC..... Also transfer your phone book to SIM card or simply save complete phonebook to wab (windows address book) file by using Samsung PC Studio Software.... You will lose internet wap, Email settings, bookmarks, FM radio channels names, All pics in photos folder , favourite images, and so on.... But it does not delete any file present in your memory card....

The casing of X700 is solid.... I think, it can absorbs shock but not very much.... It's casing is still not available in the market.... If someone knows, then let me know!

Hi usman,

First of all happy chritmas and new year.I would like to ask u a few things.I was searching a lot during the last month in search of a new phone.finally i have settled for samsung X700.But before i buy the phone i would like to ask u a few things.

i'm a sort of guy who is not very much careful when it comes to handling the stuffs.i tend to drop the phone very now and then.previously i was using nokia 3220.the phone was dropped at least a dozen of times.but the phone never gave me any problem.

I want to ask u that can samsung X700 serve me like my old 3220 i mean does the phone absorb shock.If in any case the body breaks will it be available in market atleast can i get the body from samsung service centre since i havn't seen samsung promoting this model a lot.plz reply yaar.

usman....u r simply incredible....i dont have any words .....u r the best....infact the information posted here by you is not available in samsung main manual.and moreover you help all people by answering even their stupid question.dont go away from the forum and continue to help others even if you dont like their stupid questions.

ever since i saw this forum , i cud not believe my eyes. knowing the subject fully and answering the doubts only few people can do this.

i am using x700 for the past 2 weeks and not aware of many of the functions .

but after coming to this forum i srarted loving my cute phone.that is because of your detailed explanation about the use of the phone.

once again i thank you from bottom of my heart and request you not to leave this forum.

merry chirstmas and happy new year 2007 to all readers of the forum.

after using code *#899*8378#
i messed around with my audio settings

now the loudness of phone has decreased further

please how can i revert the settings to factory settings

Check your mails now!....
Use Opera Mini 3 web browser on your X700 .... It can open almost all web sites.... It can download mp3 files, photos as JPG , rss feeds and so on....
To get this, point your phone's wap browser to http://mini.opera.com/ and click on “Download Opera Mini” link....
Answer “yes” to all installation messages and enjoy browsing the full web from your X700....
or from PC's web browser, go to http://operamini.com/ and select your country.... enter your mobile number.... then enter the text that you see in the picture and click “ Get Opera Mini” button.... You will receive an sms with downloading link on your mobile within few seconds.... Open this sms and go to options then “cut address” and then select “Go to url”.... This will install the software through gprs connection ....
If you want to install it through usb cable, then on your pc, go to http://www.getjar.com/products/3334/OperaMini
save both jar/jad files of advanced version.... then follow instructions of my installation guide....

To receive / send emails on your X700, use X700's email client ( for gmail account ) and flurry mail ( for yahoo account )....
Please read my previous posts on 12/13/14 dates of November, 2006 .... To get these posts, type “gmail” in search opinion textbox and press “ENTER” key....
Today i sent a word (.doc) file from my X700 present in “Other Files” folder using it's email client for my gmail account and it is received at my yahoo inbox with free of cost ....
USE X700's email client for Gmail account because it can send all kinds of files (including word / pdf files) from your X700 without any problem.... While flurry mail software does not support file attachment feature....

Just before an hour i got samsung X700.nice phone.took some pics from it.i have followed your tips and successfully connected the phone to pc.i will send 2 pics to your yahoo ID.see it and let me know how is it?

The "TV OUT" feature is not available in X700.... It is only available in D600/D900 or other "D series" samsung mobiles except D500....

To use X700 as a modem through your PC, please read my previous post on 06 October , 2006 ( to Ram ).... To get this post, type “modem” in search opinion textbox and press “ENTER” key from keyboard.... This post is on first page .... This will work with ALL service providers....

Well, SE W900i looks good with a huge in build memory.but this phone has some disadvantages too.firstly no EDGE support,secondly only 2mp camera.for the high pricing of the phone they should have given at least a 3.2mp cam.anyway...before buying this u can also consider other phones like nokia N73,samsung D900,SE K800i etc.

The best among the three is of course samsung D900.has 3.2 mp cam with QVGA video recording(same as with SE W900i.great display.has EDGE support.some other interesting features like TV OUT(u can watch the photos and videos directly on TV using the cable provided with the phone.also it's a great looking slider phone and also the cheaper than W900i.anyway choice is yours

maximum memory card support for samsung x700 is 1GB.ya,u can use 1GB card.but make sure that u buy a memory card which is compatible with samsung X700.

I forgot to mention that SE new models do multi tasking upto 3 programs working at the same time. Also they play MP3,ra,rm,ram(rename as rm),wma,aac,mid,amr, some wav, and You can set any of these as ringtone. play 3GP MP4 upto CIF 352x288 and may be higher. You can adjust screen resolution for Java applications by selecting between listed resolutions 176x220 - 176x208 - 128x160 - 128x128. It has great message features like SMS- MMS- Voice. The voice message is really great feature for those who hate message writting like me, or can't write. At least these features available in my new SE Z710i.

2- w900i video is QVGA 320x240, while all other SE QCIF 176x144 same like x700

If you want better video go for w900. If you want advance software, like five alarms with name and picture, read your word, excel, text,go for latest, like K600i - Z710i( Ihave one and I am very happy with it) - W701i - w850i - k610i No FM radio - Z610i no FM radio. I think the cheapest is Z710i with rich features like X700 among Samsung. Chek full review about any phone you are going to buy first on www.mobile-review.com/review-en.shtml then you can decide.
