hai friends...i'm in a bit of delima to buy a phone.i have short listed 2 mobiles.one is samsung X700 and other nokia 3230.well...i want a reliable and long lasting phone.i have heared people saying that nokia 3230 has some software troubles.i don't know much abt X700.here r my queries.1)are samsung phones reliable like nokia. 2)does samsung X700 has some software problems or any other kind of troubles?3)how is the camera quality.are the pictures good enough like those taken from nokia's cameras.4)how is the mp3 and fm radio sound quality...can it match with sony ericsson phone's audio quality. thanks in advance.

To Usman: thanks for the reply, i tried every way but the same problem, not able to install java more than 300kb, tries different java files, if u have any idea/suggestion let me know plz.... im trying to install the Quran from www.searchtruth.com thats Quran Reader Pro version and they said its compatible with X700 (see the supported mobile phones list on their site),

also can u plz mail me the Quran that u able to install so i see if that works on my x700, mail me at: matifmasood@yahoo.com

Hi! just like Melodie said that there are firmware available for samsung X700..so any1 knows how to install them?

hi all,

i brought 1GB memory card.when i can install then my mobile card was detected .but when i can trasfer data by card reader that time i can formatted by format command using window in fat partition . when i was completed operation then i was inserted my memory card in mobile phone but it cant detect my memory card.

is any change format or memory card are corrupted.so pls help me as soon as possible..

To Atif: Try Samsung compatible QURAN version.... I have successfully installed 836 KB sized QURAN through usb cable .... There is no jar size limit when install through usb.... Also read post on 12 november 2006 ( to mubarak ).... ( USMAN )

hello usman,
i m really impressed by u,
i m using this fone frm last 6 months.
fone is overall good and has excellent pic. quality.
but i think manufacturer has forgotten to put some minute features like...
can't set mp3 as sms tone.
can't see video on full screen.
havn't night mode.
mp3 player can't b mininmized.
if u hav know something that overcome these remedies then u can mail me yr reply to manishkamal@gmail.com..

im successfully able to install the 2 Quran java files that i got from Mubarak...both are less than 300kb, but when i try to install more than 300kb java application (tried 800kb java file), the phone stops for 3 or 4 seconds on the screen where it shows the progress bar and then go back to java installed games/application main menu (it has not freezed or restarted)...i have tried it again n again but same problem. i have use the java installation process which Azeem posted through usb cable using softick ppp and java uploader software.

can anyone plz help why im not able to install java game/app greater than 300kb in size?

Addition to MY Gmail Setting POST:

After Sign-in to your Gmail account.... Go to settings....Forwarding and POP....POP Download.... When messages are accessed with POP : Select “Keep Gmail's copy in the inbox”.... and please don't select “Delete Gmail's copy” .... otherwise when you retrieve any mail from X700, that will be deleted from your Gmail's inbox/sent box immediately.... So, beware of this selection....

http://samsungpolska.info has firmwares with some useful modifications: melody+vibration, full image view, radio without headsets, record of conversations and many others.

Does anybody know the procedure how upload a firmware into X700 ?
I tried OneNAND Downloader with the included USB cable, but no luck..

just bought a x700 phone. I notice right after i charge the battery full (the battery icon show full bar), i plug out the charger and plug it back, the battery is re-charging again from the start. Is this normal ?

If the battery is already fully charged, why it is re-charging again ?

I m having probs with the X700 radio.Its radio capabiity of catching radio stations is very poor as compare to SE K700i.But i dont have the original X700 head phones.Can any one tell me whats the problem.

To All X700 Users:
Now i am able to access my gmail inbox from X700's email client.... Just follow the instructions below:

1.Log in to your Gmail account from PC.
2.Click “Settings” at the top of Gmail page.
3.Click “Forwarding and POP” in the orange “Mail Settings” box.
4. On POP download section, select “Enable POP for all mails”
5. Click “Save Changes” ... A message will appear that “ Your preferences have been saved”.... Log Out from your account.... Now it's time to configure your X700 email client .....
6. Go to menu.... messages.... settings.... Email.... Email Account.... Account Settings....
7. Select Account 1 and Write these settings :

Account Name : Gmail
User Name : ( Just write your name only like “Usman”.... not your Gmail ID )
Email Address : Your Gmail Address ( username@gmail.com )
Reply Address : Same as Above
User ID : Your Gmail ID ( username )
Password : Your Gmail account Password
SMTP Server : smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port : 465
Protocol Type : POP3
POP3 Server : pop.gmail.com
POP3 Port : 995
APOP login : Keep it Unchecked
Secure Connection : Keep it Checked
Click “Save”.... Now go Back and check current account as “Gmail”.... go back and select Email Profile.... Profile Settings
and select Profile 1.... ( Note: these are only applicable with my service provider Mobilink Jazz .... For your own service, please contact your service provider )
Profile Name : Jazz Connect
APN : jazzconnect.mobilinkworld.com
Login ID : ( Keep Blank )
Password : ( Keep Blank )
DNS1: 0.0.0.0
DNS2 : 0.0.0.0
Click “Save”.... Check current profile as “Jazz Connect”
Now go to My messages.... Email Box .... Check New Mail... You will retrieve your emails .... Also check that on Email Receive Settings, you have selected (Retrieve option : Normal)...

to tibi:
ur samsung pc studio is only for accessing the phone's memory.. u can directly access ur memory card(add/delete) files using the mass storage option.. for doing this go to settings and select - phone settings-USB settings- mass storage.. after selecting this ur pc recognises ur memory card as a flash drive..

hi,i just bought an micro 256 mb sd card and i have a problem.my pc program(samsung pc studio) does not recongnized my card.i can load pic,music only from x700,but not from my pc.what shall i do pls?tnx

To Sheena : In X700, you cannot change the pics resolution.... transfer these pics to your PC and change the resolution by using any image editing software (like Irfan View 3.98 available from www.irfanview.com) to 1280 x 1024 pixels ....

But if you trying to change the lower resolution pics to higher resolution pics, then the pics will definitely lose quality.... and to print out , change the megapixel images into ( 640 x 480 pixels) size on PC....and changing from high resolution to lower one, will increase the pics quality as well....

To check the default resolution setting, open the camera and click to left soft key .... this will show “options” menu.... select option # 7 (settings).... Confirm the size (SXGA : 1280 x 1024) .... To change this, press left/ right navigation key.... and click “save”....

Thanx Usman....... but I have a query...Can I change the resolution of existing pics to SXGA and how can I make sure that now onwards all pics will get SXGA resolution.

Thank you very much for your reply. I dicover the mistake. It was softick ppp settings. It is fine now. In fact there is no need for creating new connection. Only PC suite, Softick ppp, and the uploader. There is no limit for the jar file size.
