samsung x700 supports micro sd AKA t-flash.you can upgrade upto 1gb .
i am giving youa hint to store more audio songs
just download jet audio basic then click on convert then adjust 64 kbps.at high quality settings you can get best audio quality while size is 40% lower
you can make new folder by pressing menu key on any song and then just say make new folder

The MP3 player has only one music list which can take only 50 files and you can't create more lists. So to solve this,create folders on your memory cards like ( love Songs, hot music, Indian songs, Quraan. etc. and put in each folder 50 songs sinse list accet only 50 song. Go to list add the songs of one folder. If you want to listen to another folder, go to the list remove the songs on the list and add the new from another folder. It is so easy and won't take time.
Another solution, is you can join each group of Music (lets us say all slow music, even if each group more than 50) in one large file
and then you can add all there large files to the list and you can select the setting to repeat each file, or all files, or not to repeat.

Guys I would like to know one thing...
I read that the X700 can store only 50 mp3s in one folder...
Is that true????Cause I just ordered a 1GB mem card...
I am a music-freak,so I prefer to give a little extra $$$ than down the quality.
But if it's only 50...Can't you make new folders???
Please advise!!!

i think that you should use vcd cutter v4.0
you have to buy origional because evaluation mode dont allow you to convert anything more than 7 seconds.
open vcd cutter
then click on tools then split system stream to m1v,mp3.
then select mpg or dat file and destination then click on split now.
then download free jet audio basic then convert it to 64 kbps at high quality this will improve audio quality because you are taking audio from video source then just upload mp3 file to your lovely x700 by bluetooth it is really fast compared to usb data cable
hey man cannot give any information for playing videos in full screen because x700 dont have any symbian os just wait for firmwares if they can provide any facility to play video at full screen or samsung should produce samsung x700i to remove this big mistake

hy man i am using this cell for 3 weeks
this is just a great cellphone
advatages:-
1.good mp3 player,fm radio,java.
2.excellent display having 265k colur screen
3.1.3 mp camera for 9.5 k
4.nearly 35 minutes video recording at highest settings
5.you can secure your files by password
6.there are many security features
7.many usefulies like world time,converter,calculater
8.headset is good but lacks bass and other effects
9.good contrast when playing video.
10.radio quality is crisp
disadvantages:-
1.mp3 player is good but lacks bass&other effect
2.battery life is too much low when using video &fm radio but with mp3 playback it is OK
3.camera is not capable of shooting pictures at low lighting condition
4.there is ARM operating system instead of symbian
5.you cant install games by bluetooth by just copying jar,jad files you have to follow this :-

this cellphone is magic although it have many disadvantages this phone is most desirable compared to other models
1.6600-(9.7 k)i have tested it.although it is the first smartphone which is massively accepted.but this phone beats 6600 easily.except 6600 got symbian 60.
2.6681-i havetested.notbe called as a phone just look at its size nokia is making huge phones with big display but dont think about weight imagine it weights 140 grams compared to 95 gram samsung x700.quality of 6681 is not for 15k .price should be 10-11 k
because it have less features than x700 .ithave great headset .that's it
3.6630itis great model.having fastest processor on nokia .great 2 mp camera.this is the phone which can be compared to samsung x700. but costs 12.5 k.
4.sony ericsson k 750 .it is great phoneavailablein this category.but costs 15k

solutions to problem
1.you can dirctly copy your files to memory card using bluesoleil or widcomm
2.you can install games with bluetooth sounds mission impossible but check link for it on disadvantages mentioned above
3.lacks good headset.use 3.5 jack adapter for connecting normal headphones for it
4.battery life is low .i dont have any recommandations please give solution for it
5.try upgrading firmware regularly for optimal performance
6.handle with care and do not drop it down and donot disturb lens for getting digi cam like photos.
7.if you have any problem share it
8. and please give valuable information related to x700
it is so strange that x700 dont have any community like other models iwish there should be community .trust me this is the bestmobile phone in damn world giving you bang for your valuable money.although it dont sport symbian operating system sooo saaad but i am sure everyone who sports this phone is proud of his x700

I have used Streambox Ripper software. Yes, it decreased the file size from 4.1MB to 0.77MB at your suggested settings but it reduced the sound quality also. I mean, file properties shows stereo sound but actually it is mono.
There is a big difference between original and output mp3 file.
As Samsung X700 cannot put more than 50 MP3 songs in one folder, your mp3 file joiner solution may be acceptable. I have made an MP3 Player software with capabilities of mp3 file cutter/merger, mp3 encoder (CD to MP3), ID3 tags editor and many more. If anyone is interested, I will send to him at free.It’s size is 2.64MB only.It is not a commercial product as i have made it for my own use!

There is a program called ( MP3 splitter & joiner). you can join any number of files and make them one file specially after you reduce the sizes of the files.

X700 has the following advantages over Nokia
1- MMS templates, Many Picture messages, animations.
2-Alarm manager: has 6 alarms with the selection of specific days of the week.
3-security password setup on images, messages, videos, sounds, other files, memory card.
4-answering machine:record you own answering message,set the time, and the caller message.
5-Message Reminder: it will remind you of unread messages every one minute or two accordding to the setting you made.
6- Auto keypad lock.
7- If you press any key, the screen light willturn on even keypad lock is on.
8-voice recorder for one hour.
I bought software of all the above features for all my previous Nokia phones.

1- There is a program called streambox Ripper. It is reducing the size of MP3 files. I reduced each song from 5MB to 700KB which means you can get 7 to 8 times memory savings. So even if we allocate 1MB for each song you can get bout 300 songs, and leave the balance for videos, pictures ringtones and other. So I advice you not to go for more than 512MB. You can reduce files at Birate 24 KBPS. and sampling rate at 11025 Hz - stereo. you will get the same quality as before reduction. you can create more than four folders if you want.
2- the sound of MP3 in Maximium volume is less than Samsung D600 and Nokia N70, but it is still is good. You can buy another earphone and take it to electronic shop for TV repair and ask him to cut the small speaders and fix AV pins so that you can connect the AV pins to TV or HiFI and listen to very loud music as will as radio. I did this and I am happy with it. The earphone comming with the phone is a specail one for Radio and the sound of the radio is the hiest among all phones. I tried othe earphone, but the reception of the radio become less.
3- the memory of the phone is 35Mb so the net may be 28MB always keep it free, so when you take pictures,or video or you download music, move every thing to memory card. and keep phone memory free.use phone memory for temporary storage.
4- if you keep memory almost free you can send even upto 14Mb easily. I am doing it.
There 3 ways of transferring files.
a) via Bluetooth
b) remove the memory card and insert it in the adabtor and insert in the card reader.
c) this new feature only in samsung X700 and I think may be in Sanmung I300. Go to Menu > phone setting > USB settings and select mass storage, and connect the phone to the PC through USB cable, it will open the memory card and will serve as external disk so you can drag and drop files.

the picture quality is jus average thou its megapixel only!! the radio and the mp3 player is good and well defined!!

Select menu….settings…..security…..privacy (9.8.5) and select images folder. After press OK , you must enter phone’s password which is eight digit number “ 00000000” by default. That’s it. You have successfully locked the images folder. My advise is that you must change the default password to any 4 to 8 digit password which you can easily remember. To change the default password , select menu….settings….security….change password (9.8.4) This could avoid anyone to change the password.

It can't put more than fifty songs once i put 512MB or 1GB MicroSD into this phone. Any idea where to upgrade the software for this. Please tell me the answer now.

am a proud owner of a Samsung SGH- X 700 and I have a question:this model can't make pictures in dark conditions?I have read on the internet that it has a blitz,but the real phone doesn't have one.Also the menu does not contain the famous night time shooting.What shall I do?I wil not be able to make pictures at night?Please advise.
