AnonD-37233, 08 Jan 2012i have problems with SMS, 1. the SMS display is too small... more1. when viewing a sms select "Options/Zoom" maybe this will help
2. I believe it will save sms on sim until it's full (mine can take 20) after that it saves them on phone. I don't know how what's the sms capacity of phone but I haven't hit the limit yet.

Does the phone have a socket for an external antenna? That's what separates a toy from a tool. A ruggedised phone should be a TOOL. Using an external antenna with my A411 makes all the difference in low-signal spots.

            1 pro:

Went swimming in the sea and the phone is still working.
Made a few calls after, while it was still wet. People couldn't hear me clearly, said that it had a "crackling sound", but I sure could hear them perfectly.
It all came back to normal when it dried.

            1 con:
The fkin characters are so small, even if I've set them to BIG, that I almost need glasses to read a message or see the callers ID.

As a result of this, I've bought the C3350.
Now I can finally see clearly what's written!
Who'd say that a 2.2' would differ so much from a 2.0' screen...?
It has no GPS, no 3G, but, darn! I'm liking it a lot!

              Got this mobile yesterday.

The first thing I have tested was the torch:

Yes, like it was said before, it automatically turns off after 1 hour.
Less than 1 battery bar was spent during the test.

@CountryGirl : the jack itself is in the form of a micro USB slot. So yes, you can charge it from your computer, but you will need a data cable (standard USB on one of the ends and micro on the other, to connect to the phone).

As far as for the phone itself - it's AMAZING !!! I just love it.

I'm thinking about buying this & wondering about the multifunction jack. What does the charger look like. ie: is it USB, can you charge it from the USB port on your computer, or a car usb generic charger or is it specialized? Also, what is the headset jack like? It says it's not 3.5, so what is it? I'd like to use the mp3 player part to plug into my car aux. jack. Also, can you use the phone as an mp3 player & still receive calls? Thanks for your help!

Torrenter, 11 Jul 2011To Vagabond: Did you buy this phone unlocked? The reason I ... moreI have this same phone here in the USA but the GSM bands that you are using in your home country is only carried by a few companies in the USA. AT&T is one of the few GSM carries in the USA. Most of the other phones are CDMA on the Verizon network. I go through a small regional carrier that uses GSM and allows me to roam for free on AT&T when I leave my home network. Don't know why you couldn't use your Rogers card but maybe it was best you couldn't use it because of the roaming fees you would have paid when you got home. Otherwise, I absolutely love this phone. Great for the outdoors and wet weather.

I agree about the great battery life. For regular daily phone use (half a dozen calls, sms here and there, alarm set, a couple of peaks in calendar...) it easily lasts over a week. Last time I used Trekbuddy to record a GPS track while traveling with a car. After 16 hours of recording it still had 2/5 battery left.

As for the LED, to turn it on one has to press the light button for one sec. If any other button is pressed during that time the light wouldn't switch on. I learned to be careful not to press the volume buttons when switching the LED on and I can hardly imagine situation where light button would be accidentally pressed for one second while all other buttons remain untouched. I never found it switched on in my pocket. I also read somewhere that the LED goes off after an hour.

It's true the torch often comes on in my pocket, but the phone certainly performs well in other areas. Rugged and tough but as commented on before, liable to freezing, and having to remove the battery to remedy this.
