this phone is great but it's a pity that there's no other colour like red or dark purple.

Dusty, you can change the keypad tones in profiles.. The normal style will change the sidekey noises too

if you're talkin bout the padlock on the file, thats not saying that its locked from use... its saying that its a system file that cannot be deleted
Moofer, I was answering the question, not saying bout you being wrong...

Great phone. I like to have keypad tones, but does anyone know how to change the strange birdlike tweet noise that is made when using the right and left soft keys on certain functions.

another good phone from samsung the samsung z500v black is very good phone the only thing to add on this phone to make it the best phone would be the front cover from samsung e720, i have both em and i tried to compare but is kinda hard. better earsounds in samsung z500v better pictures and video too double camera. samsung e720 is more light and better designed but with poor earsound quality overall they both nice and i love em my friends are envy me this day coz i have got the two latest phone. i would to sell both anyway basicaly i just like to be the first having them.

it can vibrate, you just have to change the ring styles (o2 anyway). they're all defaulted to vibrate off

Kien, thanks for that. I'll give Voda another try - and be more firm this time.

Helen, I called vodafone and said I couldn't find the alarm, she called the techie and they said it should be there but couldn't tell me how to find it as they didn't have a Z500V to hand. She then arranged a replacement to be delivered on Monday (and collect my one), I didn't even ask for a replacement. I also called Samsung, they just said that operators do add/delete functions and that I should call vodafone.
Hope you manage to find a fix :)

Cheers mH0x, found the alarm where you said. Just tested it and the ringtones do seem to be selectable for alarms.

Kien, how did you get voda to fix your alarm problem? I just rang them and the (very) unhelpful guy in technical help said they had no idea why the alarm wasn't working and that I should call Samsung or go into a Voda shop for advice. Some help line!

Does anybody knows how to order the messages by arrival time. Because I just found the way to do it on SMS, and to save it all on the phone memory. It orders always by type of message (MMS and SMS) then my date...
Thanks

I've got the o2 version and, as yet, haven't had any problems with the timekeeping, and I had a replacement, and took the old one out, which hadn't had a battery in for 3 days, and its time was still fine.
I've heard the voda firmware isn't too good. They like to modify phones so they're voda exclusive and its not a brilliant idea. Although the full-on black z500v does look cool

I have got a Samsung z500 from Vodaphone. I found the alarm under the applications menu: Vodafone. When on the Vodafone option (first one) you scroll right / left and then fill in the boxes as necessary. However, the phone will not let me save an alarm ringtone as all the tones are locked out. There is an option to download a ringtone - but why should I have to pay for an alarm ringtone when every other phone gives it or free?
Also, my clock keeps losing track of time. has anyone else got this problem?

I have the organiser but the alarm isn't there. Vodafone are sending a replacement but I have a feeling the vodafone firmware has deleted it even though they say they haven't.
