Well I just got back from the launch of the latest Samsung phones in South Africa! And what a launch it was! lol It was the first lauch In SA, held in Durban. They launched 4 phones
1. E340 (will be here August 2005)
2. E530 (will be here August 2005)
3. Z500 (will be here August 2005) this is a gr8 3G phone
4. D600 (will be here September 2005) Awesome.
Played with the phones, tested them. It was a gr8 evening and they did it in style. D600 fans THIS IS BETTER THAN YOU EXPECT! lol It has everything. As for the 3G phone fans, the Z500 is just somethin else. Its the smallest 3G phone that looks so gr8!
So dont worry you'll be able to get your hands on one soon! Soth Africa will in the 1st week of September

Yes i did get a flash card with the phone on vodafone and it is a 32MB.........
The centre button calls up the menu........

You can use mp3 as a ringtone, and also if you have the phone language set on english, you can also have the vibrator on at the same time!
I charge my z500 for maybe 2 hours, and I can use it for maximum 2 days with alot of use.

as many others have just ordered this phone, but a bit confussed ref mp3, can they be used as ring tones, samsung web site seams to say not pls help.
first time on here to be carful with me. lol

I don't know if its just me, but my phone charges incredibly quick. I have only just got it so I can't really measure if the battery is ok, coz I'm using the MP3 player a lot it discharged today, I got it on Thurday.
How long roughly does it take for you who own the phone to charge it?

a 256MB card costs bout £18
certain contracts include a card, others don't

Does your Z500 comes with a T-flash card included Jan? If so, what capacity as I noticed some don't come with it at all and some with 32MB.

HI.....
I have this phone and hubby has d500. the D500 gives more options when taking pics but as I wanted a clam I waited.....
As a nikia fan and have been for many years I thought i would give it a go as nokia seem to have gone downhill..the nokia in my opinion has better shoet cuts.
Sending msg's with theis phone is a nightmare but is something i will get used to....
haven't had any muffled sound when talking and works fine with my nokia car kit.....

Well this expandable memory is all very well, but how much would one of these cars set me back? Also would you recommend this over the E730? If I could not use the 3G function on this I mean?

Some contracts, such as O2 do charge for the 6680, just so you know.
Well, the D500 is an ageing model now tbh, and there are a couple of successors to it coming out, so if you're not on a contract, it might be better to wait until its successors are out.
Its quite a good model though

I would be going contract sop cost doesnt really matter, Im not really bothered about it being 3g because the area i live I cant recieve it, do you know much about the d500?

The Nokia 6680 is probably the best one out ATM, but it'll probably set you back a bit, the Samsung Z500 is probably the #2 out atm, if you're looking at the 3G route

Teo, it has expandable memory in the form of TFlash (TransFlash) memory cards, it has an "application explorer" button, so you can leave an application open, and go back to it quicker at a later time (my perception of it)
