Hi, before this phone came out, I thought it would be great, but now reading these opions it seems not, can anyone give me a reason, appart from it being 3G, why it is better than the E720?

My Z500 have the Tim Firmware, so I've asked a person if he can erase or installing its original firmware. He answered that it is possible but he also told me that the phone can experience some problems in its firmware by doing this action.

          Is it true?

Anyone can give me some solutions to rid off the Tim Firmware?

          plz help me!

i had the problem with the ringtones being quite on the first line, mp3s seem about the same volume as the default files.

i dont think that the sound is muffled, but the fact that it is essentially simulating, or is actually stereo speaker(s) in the earpiece, as it is the same with the wired headset, and i had the same sound quality with my NGage on its headset.

The menu layout isnt very bad, if you're used to symbian os layouts its about the same.

Mobile phone flashes aren't too powerful yet so thats not a big deal, the only problem I really see is that the front screen isnt really used much

Just recieved the what is meant to be the fantastic samsung z500. Ordered it online with o2, came thru fine, but when I recieved the phone was a let down. when you set your mp3s as ringtones they are really quiet, when you make a phone call the sound is muffled, there is no flash like most specs have been saying and the menu system is badly layed out. Here's a question

Do you reckon, as it can play Java games, that it will be able to play Symbian Nokia games, such as Snake II, Space Impact etc? As most of these, if on a memory card, could be used on the NGage or 66xx range

                  Cheers

Dell, it can take either a 2G or 3G SIM card
Mr. E, you can download games :)
gail henderson, there is no radio, and RealOne is the media player it uses (Real Player)

To answer the question about if this phone is better than D500, E720, V3, well IMO, any 3G phone beats a 2G phone!

This is the first Samsung I have had, so, after 4 Nokia's in a row, it takes some getting used to, but I am very impressed by it!

                      Information:
If you are on O2 (and upgrading), and had a 2G phone before, you will get a new 3G USIM card, but it will need registering, and that will de-register your old SIM, but you can still transfer contacts through it.

                      Questions:
As this is the first Samsung I've had, I need a few questions answered by those who have the phone, as I don't know if its faulty or not :(
                      1. On the front screen, if you have it so it stays alight, does the analogue clock or mp3 player part of the screen go blank after a few seconds? Is there a way to change this setting?
                      2. When switched off (eagle eyes needed), does the digital clock area of the front screen look a different tone of blue to the other (ie can you spot the area where the clock is)?

The only con I've found with this phone, is that if you have the front screen backlight on permanently, is that it will tell you if you have messages, but not if you have missed calls.

Z500 with tim logo means that the phone has the tim firmware, not the original samsung firmware. You can find Z500 with tim firmware and without sim-lock.
