Hey i just got this phone...and i can change the sms tone but only to the gaybar files they provided. But in the "special tone" category there are 2 folders....i want to know if i can transfer my tones into the second folder....or do i have to convert my files to .mmf form or what? Please help me Dr Phil, i dont know what to do!!! Or if theres anyone out there who knows...please email me and let me know, im dying here.
Asides from that the phones pretty shibby.

yes, they do make phones that work underwater, its called the Z510... You throw it underwater and it sinks to the bottom... like the useless copy of a crud phone that it is!!!

i read somewhere that there is a function that lets you weigh yourself just by putting down the phone and stepping on the keypad, but i think its only available on the portugese model

i had this phone for two days and it broke just because i kept hitting it against the wall to answer it, is there a better way to answer the phone cause ive broken 6 phones already... do samsung make phones that work under water

ok cris to set ur message tone u nned to go into fone profiles and go options edit
then click on the msg.aletr tone
after that go to special tone and then chose your tone and press the middle button after that it shood go bak to the profiles thing so then click SAVE!!

i just got this fone fone fer me bday and let me tell u if u r in tha range 4 a new fone this is the one to but it is very very simple to use compared to my isters fone which is the hardest fone i have ever touched but this fone is slim stylish and all my friends wanna see it
i have got the whicte one and if u r thinking of getting this fone get the white one it stays clean and looks better then the black
this fone has nothing rong with it the only thing i noticed was the first time i used it it held its charge 4 about 5 hours but after its second charge is works like a normal fone
this is the best fone i have ever had and i am planning to keep using it until SAMSUNG makes another one like this
if u are getting a fone i racomend this one
And as my personal comment i would like to say that i highly prefer samsungs over nokias veen tho nokia have a good reputation smasung is soon taking over.!!!!!!

Best phone I've ever used. Simple to navigate. Lots of memory. Excellent camera (for 1.3mp - much better than the my old SE W550i camera). Stylish.

First samsung I've seen that vibrates & rings at the same time.
Cons
----
Some pictures/games are part of the operating and cannot be unlocked or deleted reducing total memory capacity.
New games can't be added to the phone via bluetooth or usb - ONLY via WAP which costs money!
Can't set volume of alarm tone - however just substitute a quiet mp3.

Ways To Optimizing The Battery of SGH-Z510
Here's how:
1. Set up your network to Manual instead of Auto
2. Setup your backlight time to 15 seconds on both ON/DIM section
3. Change Main Display Brightness to 2 or 3
4. Turn the Service Light OFF
5. Change to Network Mode from Automatic to GSM800/1800 or GSM1900
6. Disable Bluetooth
7. Turn OFF your Keytone Volume, not Ringtone Volume. [From Phone Profile]
It should last you about 5 days standby time..

i dont know how to change my message tone either. also, how do i change ringing volume and is there anyway i can get the backscreen to be lit up all the time or just the time. i have a v720 as well and i have the time lit up always and i can also tell if i have a msg that way. with the z510 i have to open the fone to see if i have a message. help please!

hey! i have had this phone for about 1 month now.. i have the white one and i love it! but it has already been freezing on me, and i have to take the battery out for it to work again. The battery life is really good. Also when you recieve a multimedia message (as in a photo) you can only save it as a multimedia msg. and i have no idea where to find the picture.. Can someone plz help me, if you no what to do! plz let me no as soon as possible thanx

To the chick who is struggling with her usb, start the software up before you plug the phone into the usb.....it happened to me to...it should automatically connect itself

i've had this phone for about a month and a half. its annyoying me already. the text options are horrable (does random things,) the battery life is minimal, and it has scrathed so easily. im so carfeul with my phones, yet its all scratched up already. wouldnt recommend it again. so many better phones on the market.

Im having the same problem as a previous post regarding T9 sms. Sometimes its not doing a capital letter at a start of a sentence and randomly does a capital letter in a the middle of a sentence plus sometimes types in a number which wont let me change unless I start at the beginnig of my sms again. Is this a fault with T9? Thanks for any help given

Hi, I just got this phone a few days ago, the white one, and i do love it because i love all things white...but a little triangle next to the camera button (yes, the white part of the phone) has already chipped off. it's peeving me immensely.
AND- I seem to be having some problems with the software. the first time i installed it it worked fine and i had a good playaround with it, and today i tried to connect it to my computer via the USB and it didn't recognize it; when i clicked 'connect' on the connection manager it kept returning back to 'not connected'. is it my computer's problem, or something i didn't with the software installation? help appreciated, thanks!
