Save the date: Google I/O 2019 schedule and venue are official

The scarce, but still exciting details come from Sundar Pichai himself. He recently took to Twitter to drop the May 7 to May 9 time frame, along with a familiar location - Shoreline Amphitheatre. The Mountain View, California spot has been the venue of choice of Google I/O last three years in a row, making it pretty easily deducible info overall.

What is infinitely harder to work out or simply guess, however, is the actual agenda and announcements Google has lined up for the conference. We can, however, try to make some educated guesses or at least offer a run-down of some of the things we know the online titan is currently working on behind the scenes.

Since I/O is a developer conference, we have no doubt that the new Android Q mobile OS iteration will be prominently featured on stage. We already got an early glimpse of Android Q recently, thanks to a beta build leak and there are quite a few things to get excited about even on the surface. A system-wide dark theme and a revamped permissions model, to name just a couple. Hopefully, we can get more in-depth info on Android Q at I/O 2019. Perhaps along with a hint of Google's next desert-themed name of choice.

Alleged renders of the Pixel 3 'Lite' and Pixel 3 XL 'Lite'

As far as hardware goes, it is definitely a bit early for a Pixel 4 family. However, The Pixel 3 Lite has been leaking left and right. We have even come to expect a "XL" version of the Lite to come out at some point, but info has been scarce and conflicting, to say the least. Hopefully Google decided to shed some light on that front as well.

Also in the realm of hardware, a bunch of devices have peen popping up on benchmark sites under the "Google Coral" moniker over the last few months. Said test include runs on Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855 chipset, along with Android Q - both still outside the reach of the general public. Our best guess on "Google Coral" actually involves a new tablet of notebook line. But, that's a mere speculation and we would definitely enjoy any additional info from Google on this topic as well.

And just to throw a couple more interesting potential I/O topics into the mix, we will remind you that Google recently bought some mysterious smartwatch tech from Fossil for a hefty $40 million. Also, the FCC finally greenlit the exciting touch-free motion sensor Project Soli.
