Hi skater42, I have just been told that the firmware ver that I have has stoped those codes. It isnt my 903, it is just on lend from my work until i get my W900i. I was thinking about flashing it from the NZ/AU ver into the UK ver which these codes are allowed. Also that # trick dosnt work. Thanks for your time.... Tim

#62 - Hong Kong version....
============================
#62 is definatelly not the Hong Kong version. It would have to have a SmarTone-Vodafone logo like SRF & Vodacom do.
It only shows the regular Vodafone 3G intro.
Does anyone know how to access the Taiwanese or Hong Kong Firmware if possible?
I have doubts that they would be within this software pack...
cheers,

@ Tim,
you gotta hold the 8 button and press the POWER button at the same time.
Hold it for 3-4 seconds, a blank screen will appear and load the check-sum.
Once check-sum has completed you can hold the center, or top-left selection button (either work fine) and scroll through the numbers (1-99).
You must hold the center or top-left button WHILE you are scrolling. You cannot change numbers without holding the buttons at the same time.
Numbers & Meanings:
1. English/UK version
2. Espanol Version
3.
4.
5. German version
6-10 are VF Netherlands, Greece, Italy and Vodacom menus.
21. Japanese Menu
62. Chinese (apparently).
If you figure out any other tricks and test-modes, let us know!

@ Carol
Please use the search function below to find your answer, this has been discussed way too many times. In short:
Convert MP3 to AAC or AAC+. Make sure the file extension is .M4A.
Or flash your phone to the European version.
cheers,

@Chanakya
You legend!!! This worked brialliantly!!! :)
What other hacks can you recommend, or what do the other numbers do?
I would love to learn a bit more about this!!!
Is there a way to switch to the HK firmware? So I could have a look :)

903SH Euro (v1.046) Version Firmware - Hiding Operator ID
Some of you guys might know this trick, but others might now. I will just post it for the benefit of everyone.
1) Use the 8+power button technique
2) The center number at the bottom of the screen should read "1"
3) if you press the center button, and slide you finger up or down, you should be able to increase or decrese the number.
4) increase the number until it reads "21"
5) Power off your phone
6) When you power it back up, you should see the Japanese menu.
7) settings->display settings->show operator name-> off
8) Now use 8+power trick again and change the center number back to "1"
9) When you reboot back to the phone, the operator ID should be gone.
It seems like there is Japanese version of the firmware built right into the Euro Version. If you don't want to change it back to "1" and leave it at "21", you can have a fully functional Japanese firmware without the repro problem. The problem is if you ever try to type in Japanese, the phone will reboot.
Additional features that you will get with the Japanese version(I have tested) include voicemail, full screen wallpaper.
Disclaimer: Again, I am not responsibile for any damages that you encounter if you decide to try this hack. This hack has only been tested on the v1.046 (J500) firmware.
Cheers

Hello,
I sent the following message to vodafone, any answers to this question will be great.
--------------------------------------------
This is a question for the technical support team.
I have a sharp 903 mobile phone.
I would like to know how to silence the sounds the sharp 903 makes whilst using auto-focus and taking pictures? as far as i'm aware i do not have the ability or option to do this with the current firmware on the phone.
is it possible to achieve what i am asking, and if this isnt possible at present, can i request that this option is made available to me through a firmware software update???
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated
Regards
Ashley Weeks
