Synchronizing Games:
=====================

The Aim:

To synchronize the Games & Applications Folder with the MiniSD card, and play games and applications straight of the memory card.

Method:

As outlined below, change all numbers to 01111111 in the Applix Info.
Works for 1.046 and 100Z firmwares ONLY.

Special Info:

Games must be in a folder called Gamename.HUF.

Question:

As soon as I create the folder blabla.HUF in the "Games and More" my Phone won't let me synchronise any longer. It says "Error. Service abort."

How can this be fixed?

    I saw the phone at Sim Lim Square (Singapore) selling at SG$950 before tax..

    It is "white" in colour with wordings "903sh" at the side of the phone and Vodaphone logo at the front.

    Any idea which version of 903 is that?

        Playing Java Games using SD Card 903SH

        This is fresh news from another forum. Apparently, the way to do it has been released.
        http://www.ima-mobile.com/phpBB2/vi...23db4931acc6dc8

        0.5) Create a folder in your SD card under My Items called "Games and More"

        1) turn off your phone
        2) hold 8 + power to turn on
        3) Wait until the screen looks like the first image in the thread
        4) Hold on to the center directional button and press 6 to change the 2nd character to 1
        5) Hold on to the center directional button and press 5 to change the 3rd character to 1
        6) Hold on to the center directional button and press 4 to change the 4th character to 1
        7) Hold on to the center directional button and press 3 to change the 5th character to 1
        8) Hold on to the center directional button and press 2 to change the 6th character to 1
        9) Hold on to the center directional button and press 1 to change the 7th character to 1
        10) Hold on to the center directional button and press 0 to change the 8th character to 1

        11) At this point, you should see the following:

        62
        011111111 00000000

        (look at the 2nd screenshot in the thread)

        12) Hold on to the power button to turn it off
        13) Now power it back on
        14) Game & Application -> Java Settings -> Synchronisation
        15) Delete -> Yes
        16) Now under the GSX Java Gallery, you should be able to select your SD card.

        Enjoy

          To timmy. I'm not sure about this but as far as i know the 8+power trick can only be done with 1.046 version on a japanese 903 phone hardware. but again i'm not sure about this.

            #+power will master reset your phone. do this when your phone is switched off. be informed that when you master reset your phone all your information such as gprs settings, schedules, tasks, and contacts saved on the phone memory will be erased. better create a backup first he you are planning to reset your phone

                  Silly Question
                  ===============

                  This phone has video playback of course, it's a "video-phone."

                  Maximum resolution is 320x240 px (QVGA), ASF or 3GP (Quicktime).
                  ASF/3GP QVGA video's can only be stored on the memory card and can be as long as the memory card supports it.

                  Movies can also be played back, it is best to convert them into 3GP as ASF playback still doesn't sync properly.

                    For those that have this phone does the phone have video playback and if so what videos does it support? Is the playback decent enough to use a small pmp at times?

                        @ G,

                        my 903SH is upgraded to the UK version and its all good. That's not the issue.

                        Sony Erricsson DOES have an "unbranded" SE-Firmware, and a Vodafone firmware.

                        SHARP V- and GX- Phones do NOT have an unbranded firmware, even if the GX27, GX22 and GX32 have a specially designed SmarTone-Vodafone version (which is still Vodafone.)

                        Vodafone is the original version.

                        This makes it a bit more difficult, though not impossible, to use the phone on other networks.
                        Basic functions like calling and messaging (SMS) will most often work, GPRS/WCDMA services will be limited on foreign networks .

                        If you are a Vodafone Customer and choose to switch to another provider, be aware that your downloaded Vodafone Live! content (MUSIC, Ringtones, Games) will ***NOT*** be usable with a Non-Vodafone SIM/ U-SIM.

                        Thanks to DRM.

                          Skater42:

                          You gotta get ur phone upgraded, bought an sony ericsson of vodafone and I'm with proximus (belgium), just had to go by to a service point, they updated it and it's all working well. And oh, they'll charge you for it.

                            @ GuessBoy

                            No, there is no "unbranded" version of the 903SH, there is no real unbranded version for any GX- or V-Phone (even the SmarTone versions are Vodafone).

                            The V-Series phones of SHARP are all exclusive to Vodafone, and only have Vodafone-Firmware.

                            HK, Taiwan and Middle-Eastern versions are available, but they are still Vodafone branded.

                            This phone is only compatible with networks that have white-listed the 903SH.
                            In Australia I know that Optus is the only working Network besides Vodafone to allow the 903SH on its network, I recommend you check and test with your provider first.

                            IMPORTANT
                            =========

                            Keep in mind that any downloaded content (JAVA GAMES, MP4's, VIDEO's etc) that is DRM protected can only be opened or played back with a valid Vodafone Red USIM/SIM card and local Firmware.

                            My Japanese Firmware will not allow me to play downloaded Australian Music, Video's or Java Games. The UK or German version is the only one that allows me to do so.

                                I just purchased the 903 from an online auction site in NZ. Will this NZ version work fine? Will i be able to play mp3'd as ringtones? How big is the phone compared to the GX30?

                                    To zebra,
                                    This will only work on a european firmware with 1.046V.Not otherwise,

                                    Guys please DO NOT KEEP CHAGING THE version from 1 to 21 again and again,it may cause your firmware to get corrupted.
                                    Thanks.
                                    Also when Changed to 21
                                    the phone wil reboot when you type in japanese,also when you activate answering machine and then switch to european...YOU WILL NOT SEE the option to enable or disable it,also you will not get to hear the msgs unless someone leaves you msg only then.
                                    fullscreen wallpaper is only enabled in japanese and not in european.
                                    Thanks

                                        I love my SX833 phone!! i got mine this summer in HK and all my friends are so jealous of its awesome functions. To help answer some questions, it can only hold a Mini SD card of 1 G - because mini sd cards are so new, the largest memory is only 1g, i'm not sure if 2g would work... it does have a mp3 player - it can play without earphones as well - i.e. as a stereo. btw its picture quality is awesome. i've also managed to download hour-long dramas into it and play it whenever i'm bored in class. Its a very handy phone and i recommend it to everyone.
