Hey guys, That prob with the re-prov when going into the menu or the msgs will be cos of the Jap firmware, it will do this unless u are in Japan.
Also to anyone that has the NZ or Australia version of the 903SH ... that power + 8 thing does NOT work on these versions. Also Power + # format will also not work. These are cool features that have been locked for the saftey of the handset's software.
The pwr + 8 trick....
Has anyone found a problem with this trick?like the phone crashing? Cos i have heard that there has been a bit of crashing going on when doing this and the phone requires flashing again.
Thanks Tim

@ DAN
This happens a lot with NON-VODAFONE SIM's.
I put in my optus SIM one time and it wouldn't stop, then the Vodafone SIM and it disappeared.
Try to setup your GPRS successfully and see if it disappears.
Is it possible that you are still using the Japanese Firmware? If so, flash it to the European.
See how you go,

Hi guys,
I am from the Philippines and a new user of Sharp 903. I have the black one and originally with jap firmware and beta unlocked. I have it flashed to Euro firmware version 1.046 (J500). The bugs that affected my jap firmware because of the beta unlocking is gone and I'm very thankful for it. Just want to ask if I will be able to make my MMS and GPRS work here with my local network??? And also my Sharp detects the 3G service of my network, will I be able to use the 3G service of my local network?
THANK YOU very much guys.
Hope to hearfrom u soon

UPDATE
=======
Since I used the "0111111 hack" on my phone and synchronised the Games-Folder, another handy FEATURE became available.
The Japanese version is the only one you can operate without a SIM/USIM.
With the hack above you will also unlock this feature on the UK/GERMAN/DUTCH/etc. firmware.
Try it, apply the hack, then take out your SIM/USIM and start-up the phone.
The phone will enter into the menu, but instead of saying "Insert SIM", it will allow you to browse folders, take pictures, play games, listen to music etc.
Great!!!

First off I have a black SHARP 903SH unlocked and it is oh so nice.

saving 1MB picture takes 8 seconds
taking a photo takes 0.58 seconds on manual
taking a photo takes 2.47 seconds on
automatic
getting to camera mode takes 2.12 seconds
macro:
if you push the green button down 1/2
way it will tell you if the photo
will be good before taking it.
(green box)
will work as close as 3inches but you
have to start auto focusing from 6
auto focus has the same range as
macro...
Video:
low quality encoding makes for
temporal artefacts
Video: M4S2 320x240 407Kbps
15FPS
Audio: 0x0045 8000Hz mono 32Kbps
Line out:
you can rotate image 90 180 or -90

I can't get this to work at all.(it
can't 'find' the phone)
http://www.sharp-phone.com/downloads/downloads.php?countryid=1&modelcountryid=25
firmware:
i seem to have all the UK fw
- Inbuilt Answering Machine gives an
"unknown application" error
- Operator Name can be turned OFF
- no Interchangeable Menu Styles
no problems, freezes, or crashes
battery:
vary good
manual:
is worth its weight in crap, there
are no specifications and
it says to go online for the un
abridged version which is only the
same thing

@Nieko
I have never heard of this before and say it's not true.
Beta-Unlocked versions cannot be master reset, otherwise you loose access to the Items-Folder.
All other unlocked versions are pretty much stable.
The good thing about 903SH is that you can "Reformat" the phone at any time if something goes wrong, simply turn off the phone and turn back on pressing # + PWR.
I had to reset mine today after i couldn't transfer anything to my memory card, who knows why...
LOCKED 904SH are also available now on ebay, but I don't know when they can be unlocked...if ever.

Hi Syn: That 903SH that you are looking at would be the Japanese Vodafone version of the phone, 1) because it is white and 2) because it has "903SH" branded on the right hand side. I highly recomend buying this phone but do have the firmware changed if you are wanting to be typing english in a SMS. Good luck and I look forward to hearing how you like your new phone!!!

JAVA GAMES - Mystery solved!
============================
Ok, the code works beautifully!
My error message got resolved by reformating the MiniSD, creating a new "Games and More" folder and putting all games into this folder, make sure that the sub-folders are called Gamename.jar.huf:
My Items > Games and More > Tetris.JAR.HUF
Ok,
all good!
