I have a weird problem with my games. i'm currently a student here in uk and i download my games from republika.nl/sharp902/. When i went back home for my easter holidays, and change my uk vodafone sim card to my country's sim, all the games displayed the java picture and not the game's pic and when i was trying to open one the phone displayed cannot open. when i came back to uk all games were just fine. Why??? Does anyone know why???

MP3 Ringtones
==============
Make sure its a playable MP3 (not more than 192kbps) and NO LARGER than 3 MB, try 1MB.
I don't know what firmware 1.03Q is, if it is a chinese/tiwanese firmware it may not play MP3 ringtones without DRM.
Japanese firmwares NEVER play mp3 (protected or not).
The firmware version 1.046 plays them fine, so if you can upgrade...DO IT!!!

@ Shah, Timmy
Totally agree. The 903SH is the absolute best, I have always been a fan of SHARP, but with these legal "hacks" it simply makes it this much better.
I agree with you Shah, the 904SH will be a hit. The camera is still the same, but all other features, and the design, are just fantastic.
I have no hope to every fully use it here, though I will eventually get a gray-imported 904.
But as for now my 903SH is to stay...I ain't givin this one away!

Hi all, I really want to try all these firmware hacks, I have been a loyal 903 user since the days of not being able to unlock the Jap firmware back last year. I made the BIGGEST mistake in my life about 7 weeks ago when i sold my 903SH black jap phone with EURO firmware and got the W900i...... the W900i is "in the post" and I should get it tomorrow. I have no excitment in getting this phone WHAT so ever and think that i must sell it to get the 903SH again. Its like a form of home sickness i think hehehe, If you have a 903.... Stick with it cos it will sure stay loyal with you.... best phone of ALL time. Still better than that ugly oferpriced 904SH of that WCDMA only 905SH. 903SH ROCK ON

Hello to all!
Any Filipino's here? I have a problem setting up my GPRS and MMS. I am using Smart Sim. I would really appreciate all the help that you could provide. By the way, 3G video calling for SMART works 100% with Sharp 903, the only problem is the settings for GPRS and MMS.
THANKS :->

@ DAN
Maybe. Re-formating the phone will set it back to factory settings. If you have the EU firmware, yes it will solve your problems.
If you have the JP firmware, probably not. I used the JP firmware with a Vodafone AU USIM and didn't have teh Re-Provisioning problem but try your best!
cheers,

@ Chanakya Shah
Minor difference is the startup screen:
Netherlands & Germany run under "Vodafone UMTS" instead of "Vodafone 3G". Other than that there is no major difference and it doesn't run any better or worse than the UK one.
I've heard though that the German version was used for the Australian version, how this is possible and what is different to the UK, and why it should matter...I haven't got the faintest. Vodafone employee said so...
cheers,

JAVA TRICK & 8+PWR
===================
Ok, here's a bit of a checklist:
The 8+PWR Trick only works on v1.046 (J500), Z100 (HK) and early Japanese firmwares (1.072 ?).
To check your firmware: *01763*8371#
The 8 + PWR Trick:
- allows you to change your country ID & firmware settings (1 UK, 5 Germany, 21 Japan, etc.)
- Allows you to sync JAVA & use Phone Features without a USIM/ SIM card. (More later)
Crashing is not unlikely, so stick with one firmware that you like (mine is the German version)
Problems that might occur:
- I've had my phone cancel boot-up and restart
- Access to Memory Card was not allowed for Videos
- "No Network" status even though correct SIM was inserted
To fix any software malfunction or receive LOCAL GPRS SETTINGS:
# + PWR
- This will enter in the boot-sector of the phone and re-format everything to factory settings.
- If you leave country ID (5 Germany, 1 UK, or 21 Japan) and re-format, it will apply local GPRS settings (workaround for Re-Provisioning?).
I re-formated my phone and left it set to Vodafone Germany, once it finished it had the German GPRS settings installed.
JAVA-SYNC & NO-SIM FEATURE
==========================
Use the 8+PWR Trick, wait for all SUM-CHECKS to finish.
1. Hold the CENTER button and push the number-keys to change the "0000000" to "0111111".
2. Power OFF, take out SIM/USIM, Power ON.
3. Phone will boot up as normal, all functions available.
4. Go to Entertaiment/Games in the menu > Settings > Synchronise. Say "Yes" or "OK".
5. Now go to "My Items > Games" and the miniSD symbol will appear.
NOTE: Games must be PROTECTED and in a folder called GAMENAME.JAV.HUF.
All downloaded games will be useless, newly downloaded games can be synced to the Memory Card from now on!
