Reception US/CANADA
====================
This was just meant as a tip for all to know that on the 903SH there is only one GSM band available for the US/CANADA.
Of course there will be better coverage in cities like Toronto, Ottawa or New York :P
But if you live in GSM 850 networks only (ATT has areas with only 850MHz available) then you need to know that your phone won't work or have only little reception.
CONCLUSION
==========
US/CANADIAN Residents make sure that your network provides either WCDMA 2100 or GSM 1900, no other frequency can be picked up.
If you have either or both you'll be sweet! Enjoy!
cheers,

SHARP 7Mpx CCD Sensor
=====================
I was sniffing around on www.sharp.co.jp today and saw the announcement of a new 7Mpx CCD sensor.
My japanese is really not great so I can't tell you more details other than it's release is planned for Q1 2006.
If anyone with a few more japanese skills could check it out that would be great!!!

HI John: No there is no data cable in the pack sorry, I brought one the other day and it is very good, it makes the handset manager faster up-loading and down-loading to the phone and it also will charge the phone while you are at it.

To skater42:
Don't take my word for this, but many 903sh useres in Toronto Canada has proven that reception is very good. My 903sh is better than my mtotov551. My friend's 903sh is better than his Nec N840. both phones are Quad -band by the way. The list keeps going on.....

US / CANADIAN / SOUTH AMERICANS
================================
Whatever appears on the Japanese Quad-Band (UMTS/GSM) Market will ultimatelly appear on the European/AsianPacific Market also.
This means that you will be able to unlock it, all EU-Versions are unlockable.
Whatever Japan produces that is UMTS-only or PDC, forget about it. It will NEVER be available overseas.
So there is no reason to change the firmware, the new 904SH will be available in Europe and be unlockable. Done.
For the US/CANADA I see another issue. With only one band (1900Mhz) available, a tri-band GSM phone is going to have crap coverage.
I haven't seen too many advancements on WCDMA in the US either.
Will talk about this a bit later,

Timmy havent seen any pics yet that look real like everyone has stated, but as Reno and Skater have stated im sure the camera and quality of the phone will just improve. I am just hoping it will have the ability to be unlocked so I can use it here in the US, since I cant find another phone that is anywhere close to the options and quality the sharp phones have. I hear ya Reno trying to find a phone that a women wants is hard they are to picky, I know first hand had to buy mine a Motorola Razr what a joke of a phone but its small and cute she says :)

@ Timmy,
I do a lot of research ;)
@ ALL
804SH, 904SH etc.
==================
You have to understand that these phones are primarily designed for the Japanese market.
Size and form do not matter as much in Japan as they do in Europe, functionality though is a MUST. With DOCOMO/FOMA and it's 3G, and soon 3.5/4G HSDPA, i-Mode service we are looking at a new way of mobile technology.
FeliCa and other GPS services are now almost a standard in the major city's in Japan. Europe cannot keep up with this standard as yet, so I doubt we will see many Japanese-style handsets until the next few quarters.
Vodafone KK is also shaping up and has introduced FeliCa on it's servers (703SHf the first FeliCa Model).
Europe, Australia and the US are more Entertainment oriented, so the V804 (Toshiba) Music, 903SH 3.2Mpx Camera and few other models appeal more than CredidCard and Finance Models.
I highly doubt that FeliCa etc. will gain any trust in Europe any time soon. As Europeans, especially Germans, tend to be very careful with such inventions.
Japan is the "sandbox" and we will see whether it proves useful for the rest of the world.
3.2 MPx vs 5.0 Mpx
==================
With SHARP producing such good CCD sensors that require relatively small space we can expect much from the new models.
The trick is to make the sensors more sensitive and less noise. A better "flash" and even a place to install a tripod would be fantastic.
Have a look for the latest SONY and Pentax Slim-line cameras. They all move along the same trend, small sensor, internal-optical zoom etc.
There's not much to it, just wait for SHARP to use the same Sensors that are used in the digi-cams.
cheers,
Skater42
