So far, still am shopping for a phone other than 903 but whenever I look at one which has a lower resolution I just put the phone back to its shelf. SE900i comes pretty close. The only drawback is its swivel opening. I'm sure I would drop it one time when I'd have it. Most probably I would settle for another 903 soon for my dear wifey.

Hi Neal, Timmy and all.
Regarding features 904 or 905 must be better as Sharp always improve the present than the previous model. I have seen 904 in pictures and I don't think its design would be as appealing as 903. Looks like a "brick" to me. Do yous think there would be much difference in a 3.2 and 5 MP? I hope Sharp would look deeper to improve the s/w where it would be much applicable to anyone anywhere just like Neal had said...a hybrid.

For those that wonder if the 903 works on the Tmobile in the US it does I have had the gx32, tm150, 902, and now the 903(have had it for about 3 months) and all of them worked on the Tmobile servers. To Timmy, Reno and Skater hope the 904 or 905 wont have the problems you speak of and it will be able to be used in other markets , as unlocked. I really am a big fan of the sharp phones they are truly amazing and have such great options. I just cant see using any other types of phones the quality is fantastic and the phone is far better than anything here in the US thats for sure!!!!! I do wish there was a hybrid between the Japanese and Euro version tho :) like all the things that the japanese version has and would like to have the added options the Euro version adds but cant have everything lol

HI Skater42. the 903SH does not have Fila Ca, they only have these new CID73 chips so that no one can unlock and or re-flash into UK Firmware, but as you explained to me before it is for the protection of their network.... SHF can be flashed into the 703SH and is there a 903SHF??? i havnt seen this one yet?? it would look cool ( i think the 703SHF looks nicer than 703SH, better colours) Thanks for your info... do you work in the industry or are you just a very smart guy who does his re-search?? thanks Tim

@ TIMMY,
703SHf/ 903SHf FeliCa
======================
I think that the new chips might be used for the 703SHf and eventually 903SHf?
The SHf series are FeliCa models, the mobile wallet version. This means that a few security issues have to be addressed and the chips might do exactly that.
I could be wrong too, but I know the 703SHf has just been released.
cheers,

@ Mark,
As Kshinn already mentioned, networks in Japan are slightly different to our standards. How the actual WCDMA networks differ I am not 100% sure about, but I was aware of an older Version of WCDMA for DoCoMo.
Obviously some DoCoMo/Vodafone KK phones use our WCDMA standard (903SH), and also incorporate the GSM standard, though they are locked and only usable with the local providers (read my post about phone locking).
Now, WCDMA is one network, PDC a completely different one. These networks run on a completely different frequency (700/1500 Mhz) and as Kshinn said, do not require a SIM. This standard is not available anywhere else other then Taiwan.
Any PDC phone you see (v604, v302 etc.) will not work outside of Japan. It's just not compatible with any frequencies we have.
Be sure that the i902sh will in some form or shape appear on the GSM/WCDMA market. It's sexy!

to mark...
sh902is and sh901i cant even be used in any country outside japan.... WCDMA-TDD (DoCoMo) and WCDMA-FDD (Vodafone and rest of world) are different, so cannot be used outside Japan ..... another thing.... those phones doesnt use regular simcards.. or rather are not considered sim card... therefore... noway we can use... but anyway.... those two are great phones too!!** its also from sharp....
cheers

Hi all,
I like this phone. It is a little bigger than my old gx32, but the camera it is much better.
However, I have not been able to get installed the usb driver to my pc.
If any one can give me a hint how to install the usb without any problem, I will appreciate it.
Thank you,
Art.

Hi, i'm seriously thinking about getting a sharp 903 After reading all the posts i was wondering if someone who has the phone can ans these Q for me thanks, even if they are repeats of other ppl.
1. With UK firmware would the phone definitely be able to use mp3 ringtone?
2. can Uk firmware display and type chinese?
3. can it be used as a USB pen?
4. can the menu theme be changed or does the UK firm have teh ugly vodafone live theme? (in live in NZ and have all vodafone services available to me)
5. does it have a radio?
6. can additional applications such as office viewer be installed or does that require a OS like symbian?
thanks alot

Hi everyone.... if you wish to change the firmware in your 903SH and you have brought your Japanese version of the phone lately then you wont be able to change it anymore because our good mates at Vodafone Japan (whatever) have decided to change the flash chips in them from CID29 (old chip) into a new CID73.... making this 73 chip not readable on any tool buy some tool that Voda KK have.... Changing the firmware requires a tool and the software unfortunaly you cant just punch codes into the phone :(, it takes about 2hrs and a full battery and the tool sends the flash file to the phones flash chip... UK Firmware is BY FAR the best i dont recomend the Jap firmware at all.... unless you are living in Japan and you dont type texts in Japanese. TIMMY!!!

The only way to make 903 play mp3 as ringtones is to reflash it with euro firmware.
