Hi Subbee: I am just waiting to hear back from the people that know what there doing!! I have tried and tried to get the MP3 to change to AAC Encoding and its just not working!! With you having a MAC you shouldnt be at a disadvantage or advantage.

what is the video ability like? How near does it come to camcorder quality. Whats this nonsense about music compatibility not being straight forward? I use an apple mac computer does this pose a problem for me greater than microsoft users.

How are you suposed to use iTunes to convert to AAC Encoding?? It's staying as m4a and the phone will not accept it! Can somebody please help?? I have given the phone another chance lol

Hi Reno: I have gotten this phone and i give it 0.5/10. i have put it back in it's box and listed it on ebay. I can't beleve that this phone was allowed out on the market, I would have the Sharp 902 anyday!! My phone will not play the M4A Encoded songs that iTunes has suposidly changed into AAC, all you have to do is tap the end button and it says please wait and goes blank, the phone turns on in silent mode and you have to push # twice to get it into normal mode, and also when typing a Text message the "0" key it , and right arrow is space!!! What were they thinking about when they made this phone?? and lastly ITS UGLY!!! all up i give this phone 0.5/10 well done sharp (NOT)

To Timmy. The easiest way of transferring mp3s to 903 is by card reader. There are some mp3s that stop during playback though-but most of them are playable in stereo and they sound best with headphones. Since I am downloading my mp3s from P2P network I think the cause of the stopping is corruption of the files. 903 I think is sensitive about as why it plays a lot of songs also. I like this phone and I give it a 9/10. Mine doesn't have problems with that power button-silent mode thing. If you really want to enjoy its full features(dvd playback in full screen), buy the software from ebay. The one from "commander spike"(andrewreid@f2s.com). I can guarantee it works. I think it would be years before I would upgrade to any other phones as I this 903 has most of the good things a phone should have.

Hi 903 USER, i get mine 2mrw, i cant wait!! I have spent ages converting my songs from MP3 to AAC, they take ages as i have 3065 songs, i have a 1G mini SD so i will have to juggle my songs arround, i also noticed that the AAC encoding is bigger that MP3 which will be anoying, So what do you give this phone out of 10?? Also does yours have the firmware fult with power button and silent mode??

To Timmy:
Yes and No. You have to convert to aac or mp4 first. To convert to mp4 , just use itunes. When the songs are on the playlist, there is a fuction to convert to mp4. I use the card reader since, it was a pain to use bluetooth. Hope that helps.

Hi, Is it true that this phone will not accept MP3's via bluetoth or USB?? I have heard that you need a Card Reader and load them onto the card and then play through the phone. This is on the Sharp V903SH. Does anybody here have this version and could kindly let me know?? Thanks very much

I don't think any phone can match this feature and this made me very proud of my 903. DVD in full screen and in stereo. What else do you want.

It seems that everybody is only after photo clarity and ringtones. Who would want a 3 or 4 minute-long MP3 ringtone? Well it's very true that you can shorten MP3s to about 30 secs and that would be fine as per dave_100 but you would need a "mobile phone tool" to do do that. Ask anybody who has Moto E1000. Nobody so far have asked what's the best thing a 903 can do. And that's the DVD Video playback with superb quality(mobile phone standard).in full screen without network logos whatsoever. Is anyone interested? Ask andrewreid@f2s.com. He'll give u the easy way how to enjoy this phone to the fullest. No phone in the world would suit everybody's taste but I would say this 903SH is the BEST so far...

Hi, On the V903SH (JP) i thought the back lights can be turned on through the settings but turn of and enter silent mode when the phone is turned off. Also, can you load MP3's onto the phone and use it as an MP3 player?? Thanks

yes, just shorten the mp3 to abuot 30 secs long and itll work fine as a ringtone.

its good enough for me, can send pics to mates, dunno how good nokia and samsung are

smaller than 902, bigger than many phones, but you get used to it, and if you want a good phone, then you need a decent size. the black makes it look smaller.

6)How about the menu? how does it compare to the sharp gx-20 menu, and all sharp phone menus in general. Themes?????????

its a darker menu, black background, not so bright as other sharp phones. themes not possible AFAIK but not 100% sure.

This is really getting on my nerves...people are just calling for the staff of gsm arena to post some reviews for the 903...and all but one of them have been deleted....but I don't see those posts violating any of the posting rules! I am stunned that suggestions for improvements can't even be made in this forum

I am using Sharp 903 v for 1 month. I will write bad and good about this phone.
Good:
1. It one of the best camera with otical 2x zoom.
2. The rotating screen makes from the phone to camera very easy and fast, activating camera.
3. Menu and speed of the phone is good.
4. I like the flash light. it blinks when someone rings or sent a message.
Bad:
1. I can not send/rcv E-mails bigger then 300kb
2. I can not download via bluetooth MP3, only need to remove MEMORY CARD and have addaptor on my computer.
3. SMS confirmation of delivery comes as new SMS that is annoing.
4. Battary lasts with normal use 35 hours
5. When connected with computer via bluetooth can not use phone to call or to send SMS via computer or phone.
6. no external screen.
7. Can not use MP3 as ring tones.
8. In SMS editor the phone does not have smiles. :(
Basically what I can say is that Sharp is trying to sell camera with the phone. But it is stupid to make the phone not to send more then 300kb how can I send 1mb picture to my friend???????

hi darren
i presume you are using the testmode flashed version. this version voids the rights of using mp3 as ringtone and offs the keypad lights at default... so i dont think that you can change it...
