And as always forgot to mention:
903 looks like a phone first!
Sharp 903 is a large and solid phone, with huge screen and well organized keypad! This is not a toy unlike girl's toys like Sony k750, samsung e630, Sony s800 are.

SHARP 903 UPDATE!!
Finally there is a detailed and excellent review of 903 that can now be found at
http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=1638&source=SEARCH
What I predicted before is now a reality
Sharp 903 has: the best screen and camera quality.
The following soon after Sharp will be Panasonic with its new super-advanced Maicovicon sensor for its coming up 3mp camera phones in the mid of 2006!
I DON'T UNDERSTAND: Why are you guys so hooked up on Nokia n90 and Sony k750?
I always underlined that NOKIA PHONES are the best quality phones (no doubt about it).
But as for the camera part Nokia still needs to find a good partner (Just like Panasonic found excellent coworkers in the name of Lumix and Leica).

You can get almost any phone that's currently out at eBay. Just do a search for the model you want and chances are that you'll find it there. So, it's not that hard to get afterall...

It is a great camera phone but the ringtone is far too quiet even when set at its maximum level. Although the stereo handsfree gives a reasonable sound, it would be better if the phone comes with a standard 3.5mm output jack. Better still if it can support bluetooth stereo out.

Thank you - "Wobbuffet"
For this very important note about CCD nad CMOS sensors.
I did my online research and found out that:
1) CCD sensor is perfect for very high pixel cameras (3mp, 4mp, 6mp, 7mp)
2)CMOS sensor is perfect enough for 1.3 mp and 2.0 mp cameras)
IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Panasonic has announced the development of completely new image sensor for mobile phones
( Not CCD and neither it is CMOS). The new sesnsor named MAICOVICON will be superior to CCD and to CMOS (for mobile phones at least). MAICOVICON sensor has advantages such as less power consumption than the CCD image sensors, and higher quality image production compared to CMOS image sensors.
NOTE:
I told you guys, that Panasonic and Sharp will become the leaders in high quality camera phone by mid. 2006! Now all the factors are infront of your eyes!
On top of all of the above, Panasonic 3mp module (for 2006 3mp camera phones), also has image stabilization! ( just like all new Panasonic dig. cameras do). Image stabilization iliminates bluriness caused by hand shaking!
Excellent work Panasonic and Sharp!

CCD is not better than CMOS and CMOS is not better than CCD.
They have different qualities.
It's like comparing a plane and a helicopter.
They both fly very well but in a very different way.
And for these is the same:
one type elaborates the pixels separately,
the other elaborates them all together.
In one case you have precision, in the other more uniform photos.
...and the difference is anyway quite indistinguishable...

3.2 mp is a major breakthrough and the camera settings have been improved.Probably the pictures are the best a cell phone can offer but calling it a digital camera or a camera replacement isn't correct due to its small diameter of the lens and the CCD! dimensions.
Still a great phone to take pictures, but we must consider that it is primarily a phone. So if you need smartphone features without wanting to buy a large smartphone you should consider nokia n91(Wi-Fi,etc.) although there can't be made a picture comparison. So finally the choice is yours as always.

Lets be realistic:
Sharp 903 is the only one you can call a digital camera beside that it is a phone too.
THE REASONS ARE VERY SIMPLE:
CCD Camera!(not cheap CMOS Carl Zeiss! like on Nokia or cheap CMOS like on Sony Eric).
-3.2 MP resolution!
-2.0 x optical zoom!
The closest one to this camera is DV1 phone by Excute ( another name is: Ak Mobile ,
Ak 900).
Dv1/Ak900 is the only one GSM phone today that can capture 30fr per second video! (resolution that is available only on new digital cameras). On top of that 3mp (though CMOS and without optical zoom) camera is not bad at all too.
Bytheway, just so you people don't get confused: Ak Mobile is the partner of Xcute, and Xcute has allowed to Ak Mobile to sell their DV1 under Ak900 name. ( ak 900 costs only $480 at cti telecom http://www.no-air-time.com ). I checked this information with AK Mobile ( I called them).
GOOD JOB Sharp!

I've had the Sharp SX833 ( HK version unlocked ) for about 2wks now. Bought it from a HK guy for US$870. Great phone, great screen, great camera ( best so far ) and great video capabilities - very very clear!
However, the ringtones are a bit of a disappointment. Although the 128 poly chords are amazing, the sound volume is SO soft that you will DEFINITELY miss calls in public areas. Also it can only play midis, mmf and mp3 files and ONLY in the internal memory card which is crazy - only 8MB! So far I have not gotten any .mp3 files to work as RINGTONES so maybe it's not even possible. MP3 player is another story though, great sound comparable to an Ipod.
Bottomline, if you want great screen, great camera, great video and great music player and great reception in a phone, get it. If you're into loud, flexible (wav, mp3, amr )ringtones, then don't get this phone.
BTW, if anyone can help on how to use mp3's as ringtones, it would be really great! then this would be the ULTIMATE phone.

Anyone buy one of these phones as of yet with a review on it? I am going to Hong-Kong next week and plan on buying one. Reviews on Sound quality? Dropped calls? Speaker phone Quality? Battery Life? Anyone use the 3G on it as yet? 3G quality any good?
