@ Borgis, M & all
==================
Thanks for that, I also believe that this isn't the place for personal attacks, and my opinion is my own. I respect other opinions but when I feel I should contribute, then I will...
Spelling mistakes are due to fast typing (not that I need to justify myself).
With HSDPA already rolled out in Germany I am hoping for some great Handsets from SHARP. I strongly believe that the VGA screen will stick around as the QVGA started on the GX20 and stayed ever since.
In Australia I don't hope for all that much, I would already be happy to get 3G in Coffs Harbour. But...if Telstra eventually rolls-out WCDMA 850 I'll need a bloody new handset. I'm hoping Vodafone will do something soon.
I'm happy for SHARP to stick to 3.2 MPx if they keep on improving the CCD sensor they way they have. 5- or 7 MPx would be fantastic, but better processors and the fantastic lenses they make are really my concern. I see a great future in this...
Anyways, cheers guys, I enjoy these chats ;) As always, keep me updated if you hear anything new.

heyz all , thanx for replyin to my previous post , been a while since ive checkd anyway
a toast for skater ur alrite mate at least u follow sharp fones and know a bit abouts whats goin on , the 904 is definately something to consider , unfortunately its price and availibility are bringing about its downfall , its not available or affordbale to the average joe in AU or EU
etc , surely it can be improved and a 905 of some desciption must be on the drawing board
some manga cartoon artist must be drawing up a sketch right now , its great to see the japanese people are so far ahead when will other manaufacturers catch up , when will we all have fones that are well worth it , as for attacking others oppinions , dont judge anyone for only god can judge all humans make mistakes no one is perfect we can only try to do our best , till next time folks
take care and have fun and watch this space sharp is exactly that SHARP

@skater
well if the fcc for a new sharp for euro market, which is currently on process, is a 904 then that's very very good!!! otherwise i just hope that it is something high end almost comparable if not comparable to 904. i hope it's the same vga resolution and video recording and louder speaker.

guys this forums is supposed to be all about sharp 904 and as the rules say "expressions of hatred,.. sex, sexual orientation.. are strictly prohibited. why blame skater when he himself has the right as well to post his opinion and it seems he know a lot about these kind of phones. to believe or not, its up to you. he's been so positive about his posts specially with sharp and been helping people with their questions. you better give some good contribution to this forum instead of attacking someone.

@ Borgis
There's no chance of trimming down the firmware without making it a brand-new model. I don't believe that the Japanese Softbank/Vodafone KK would have any interest in "ruining" the reputation of the 904SH for the sake of "under-developed" European networks.
Hopefully we will receive a similar quality product with similar specs, but the hope of getting the starved 904 for the EU market remain very VERY slim.
It will be interesting to watch though what SHARP will have to offer us in the EU. It better be good. It'd better be more than a 770SH!

Thanks, how nice of you.
YES, I am gay, but I don't know about the bastard thing. I've got legitimate parents, thanks.
All I'm saying is perfectly reasonable, so I'm sorry to disappoint you guys. If you need to cry about it then I have a few good counselors available.
Should you be able to live on then I suggest you make it til your 18th birthday, get a job and get laid!

to everyone
this is mark. just changed name to BORGIS to be more identifiable. to tell you frankly i haven't seen the fcc yet. the member i was talking about has some info that "the fcc is currently in approval stages of an unknown sharp phone for Europe... and its not the 770sh. so... all signs are pointing to a euro 904sh."
those are his exact words. the phone is still unknown. like i said it is a slim hope. well, i don't know how are they going to trim down some japanese specs of the 904 to make it more european. it has a felica chip inside right? so i'm wondering... will they remove that felica chip for a euro 904 since it is not usable outside japan? anyways, just whatever they do i just hope the euro won't be restricted to just a single theme, since the japanese 904 can customize themes that you can download from custamo.com. i'm planning on getting 904 now since it is cheaper because unlocks are not yet available, but they say it will be soon. but probably that time, prices will go skyrocket. and now comes to view a hope of a euro 904. i'm still thinking if i should get this one now or should i wait if a euro already comes out. i'm just so amazed with the vga resolution. just imagine you can watch your videos in dvd quality with your PHONE. you can even record videos at vga resolution. really great!! i think only n93 can come close to this phone, if not better.

OMG!! :-)) 640 x 480 display?? 2x optical zoom? If the menu is intuitive and comes with a flexible OS, this is a must have.
The keys could have been designed better though.

Hey, that would be good news. Have you seen the FCC approval anywhere? I have only seen the Japanese FCC sticker, which means that unless there is an English sticker with an FCC ID it won't appear outside of Japan.
Keep us posted if you know anything more, I'll keep my eyes open.

alright i'm back. i've seen some posts from another forum and one member on that forum, a pretty reliable member, has some slim information about a euro version of 904. combining research and some guesswork gave us a hope for a euro version of it. it is because there is an fcc approval already but the phone name is not yet announced. that means a possibility of 904 being released outside japan. so it is still a rumour but atleast it gives us hope.

@AMG
I SO hope that you're right :)
I haven't used another mobile company since my LG 7200 & NEC e616.
GX20, GX30, 802SH and 903SH have been in my possession. And they got better and better as I got along. I expect these improvements from SHARP and hope to see more in the future as well...unfortunatelly I do not make executive decisions on their behalf, and they won't do it to do us a favor. It's all about money...
cheers,

Japanese Solo
==============
In my opinion from this stage on, as Softbank is taking over Vodafone KK, Japan will once again isolate itself from the European mobile market.
DoCoMo has always kept the latest to itself, it has taken years just to adopt i-mode & WCDMA which is pretty much old news now.
Vodafone KK won't be much different.
And no, Vodafone != (does not) Vodafone. Vodafone KK is now Softbank and will probably loose interest in the European market quickly. Just as much as the European market is not really interested in the Japanese.
Simply because we see these exciting new Vodafone models on Voda KK/Softbank does not mean that Vodafone Group will go down the same track I'm afraid.
After all, only a small percentage of Japanese 3G mobiles have ever made it to the EU continent, 5 that I can think of.
We will see what the future holds, but for 2006 I don't think it will look very good for SHARP, but SE, Nokia & Motorola are in the race as always...yay...whatever.
Not cool.

The best way to see what SHARP phones will be available, check out the official SHARP site in your country.
If the phone isn't listed there, it won't be out.

Did I offend you before? I merely address you by the name "AMG" which you choose to use, didn't know that was your car... but, thats what you call yourself.
I'm talking about mobiles, what else were you thinking of? Of course I respect your thoughts... it's your right to express them. I do the same, remember that this is text you're reading. I'm smiling behind the screen ;)
I'm just saying that the chance of getting Felica & NAVI AND the 904SH are very slim. I don't know about the EU, but FeliCA seems to stay in Japan for the moment. No news or press releases that I know of that would change this in the near future.

skater42 .. if most of the new sharp phones have all these features then vodafone will lunch these features in europe, you said the same thing i did...........................................we cannot expect the 904sh until felica & navi have been introduced, as most sharp phones now feature them (703f, 804, 904, 905), and it makes no sense to trim the firmware just for the european market.

Whatever... name has not much to do with it.
The 902SH and 903SH were perfectly compatible with the local networks and didn't feature anything that wasn't available.
We cannot expect the 904SH until Felica & NAVI have been introduced, as most SHARP phones now feature them (703f, 804, 904, 905), and it makes no sense to trim the firmware just for the European market.
As someone else mentioned before, SHARP & Vodafone KK are the "brains" behind the development of these phones, not Vodafone Group EU.
The 902/903 were just suitable for the local networks but I don't believe that Softbank Group, the new owner of Vodafone KK, will have much interest in European sales.
Get a gray-import, but don't wait for Vodafone to release it, I believe you will waist your time unfortunatelly.
