Silver color version of the Android-based HTC Desire spotted

17 March, 2010

While we are waiting for the HTC Desire to hit the stores in the first place, a silver version of the Android smartphone has just been spotted in the wild. Up until now there was information only on a brownish HTC Desire but obviously a new color version is just around the corner.

The Desire was one of the most interesting devices announced during this year's MWC in Barcelona. It packs the fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor and runs Android OS v2.1 (a.k.a. Eclair). You also get a 3.7" AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch support and HTC's latest Sense UI.

Our first impressions of the phone were more than positive and here you can check out our review of Desire's step-brother, the Google Nexus One, which we poted recently.

And here is a short video of the Desire in silver.

The HTC Desire is expected to start shipping in the UK (and hopefully rest of Europe) in the beginning of April.

Does anyone know if this silver edition will be available in Australia on plans, as an alternative to the urban brown colour.
