I have used Nokia 5310 and then 5800 and let me assure you that these phone cant match walkman series. I used Nokia for a long time but i shifted to SE cuz i m a music freak. SE gives what anyone would look in a music phone. Yes SE has failed to produce business phone with good internet browsers or office application support but when it comes to Camera and Music, SE doesn’t have no match in the universe. I recommend SE if anyone is a music freak or wants to take clear digital snaps and i recommend Nokia if one wants to use internet and office applications. No offence to anyone but in music SE is the only King of the Ring

The crackle sound has happened since the w810 days it happens when skipping tracks on many of their phones and when pausing tracks. Walkman is poor sound i know quality hi fi sound as i review hi fi as my job. Whenever i hear Walkman phones its just muffled on Mega Bass its very over rated. Have you never heard the w910 what a completely awful sound it had. Weedy. Now as you say about Nokia not being top for long well they have been top for longer than any phone manufacturer and their 40% market share is compared to Sony Ericsson who are now only 5%. Even Sony Ericsson themselves know they gotta improve its not good enough with their quality control since after the K800i thats when they lost big market share consumers stopped buying alot of their phones because of poor reliability and phones falling apart. And who cares if Nokia dont have menus not as pretty as you put it what matters is that it works and is reliable and easy to use. All my family own Nokia phones and not one has had any problems or phones falling apart they lasted years. And Nokia use a dedicated audio chip for sound and believe me it sounds good. Your probably one of these stupid bass freaks who never actually listens to the quality or clarity of the music rather just bass all the time. Sony has great dedicated mp3 players but Sony Ericsson together its poor. Sorry its the truth. And i dont make things up. Read forums on Esato website everyone has nothing but problems with Sony Ericsson. And stop swearing you sound like you got anger management problems. Nokia has been top for years and are still the most trusted brand now. Sony Ericsson have got alot of catching up to do. Why are companies such as Samsung or LG racing ahead its cos their tech is far better than Sony Ericsson. Nokia Samsung and LG all put VGA video recording in their phones years ago Sony Ericsson still on QVGA. Their hardware and software is slow since the Ericsson days its always had a slow chip running the menus. See what happens when you try multi tasking it slows down unlike my Nokia 6303. I rest my case.

Kao, 17 Jul 2009I was planning to get this phone so went to test it out a c... moreNo. This phone doesn't hang or lag. Its really stable. Maybe the phone you used had an outdated firmware. The old firmware of this phone is quite laggy. Updating it will increase its performance. I'm a heavy texter aswell and I own this phone. I love the threaded sms thing. You'll really be happy about it. I text atleast 60 messages a day and I love texting with this phone.

This is the worst mobile i've ever seen.music option is very bad and also the camera.this is the cybershot option mobile.but it works like a vga camera.am going to change this fucking mobile.i suggest people dont buy this .nowdays sontericcson going down....

jenifer, 13 Jun 2009within 5 minutes. yesterday talking on family n friends,for... moreYes Jenifer, the c510 gets heated up very fast in about 5 mts time itself. i have given my phone for service and they have said to have re-installed the software. but i am not sure whether because of the software the phone could get heated up. anywayz, let me get the phone from sony service and let me check.

I was planning to get this phone so went to test it out a couple of days back. When I was trying to run some of the test phone's programme, it's sort of lagging. I am an ardent txter, I txt around 2 - 3k texts per month so having a lagging phone cannot do. Is this the general basis about this phone?

Also, I am not a huge camera or game user, so those features only act as bonus for me. I had 4 SE phones before, all of them has this notorious problem of hanging and restarting. Is this problem notable on this phone?

Would really appreciate some kind of constructive feedback. Thank you.

Cos people are tired of poor quality control with Sony Ericsson. Oh and Walkman brand is just a name. If you hear the quality from Xpress Music Nokia phones its far better in clarity. And Sony Ericsson has the awful crackle when changing tracks. And Nokia 5800 has now shifted over 4 million units.

Ugly FAT Bricks with HORRIBLE design, very HEAVY, the most boring UI ever with no animation in their UI at all and not to mention how it always hang and lag. At least SE's designs are really stylish, their phones are slim, good sound quality, very stable and the best UI ever! Have you seen those music players of Nokia? Disgusting! And what horrible sound quality! Their phones may be loud but damn their sound quality's horrible.

SE fan not now, 15 Jul 2009As a sony ericsson w910 user and fan i really accept ur tho... moreI think SE have fallen far behind other manufacturers over the last 12months. Samsung, LG and Nokia all doing more with their phones these days. Shame I've had SE phones for the last 5 years but moving away now.

As a sony ericsson w910 user and fan i really accept ur thoughts man.
Animated flash menu is not enough and why is there is no gps in w705 and many reviews told that there is a problem in wifi receiver(automatically booted after an hour of usage)
I think SE is a baby now and try to be a men.

I have had one of these Sony Ericsson and had nothing but problems with it. I just got a Nokia 6303 and so far its reliable no crashes battery life lasts longer than this phone and camera quality is superb even with led flash in dark rooms i am very impressed. Sony Ericsson are getting worse. My Nokia even does better video recording. Nokia are coming on leaps and bounds and are now more reliable than ever before. I get a decent signal on my Nokia unlike this rubbish phone and clear call quality. C510 is muffled.
