Cedar when not pressed any key will go blank very fast in order to extend battery life also display life, so in blank state (when no backlight is there) its not possible to view anything in screen, but don't worry all new items like msgs, missed calls, email, tweets etc etc are all notified & alerts remain on main screen which will ensure you wouldn't miss anything.

rit, 22 Nov 2010dear friends i am totally confused about cedar,naite or nok... moreBoth c5 & cedar r good in 3G & application support.
In application support both the phones have downsides and upsides.
Upsides -
Cedar is basically a java phone so all the java apps r supported no matter what the condition is & the java apps run extremely smooth and fast.
C5 along with java support also have symbian 40 apps support.
Downsides -
Cedar doesn't have support for those extra symbian apps.
There r many java apps that cedar would run successfully but c5 don't bcoz java support in c5 is not good as cedar. Also nokia phones don't run java apps smoothly but se phones do. Nokia phones would download a java app even if it's infected with virus but sony ericsson phones refuse to download the app in that case, so basically it's more safe to download apps in SE phones.

vivek, 22 Nov 2010i vivek again, i connected my cedar to system with USB cabl... moreyou can work with pc companion even if there is no internet, if u want to copy files then u should change usb mode to mass storage for other tasks like sending sms, contacts, internet etc change usb mode to pc.
speeds for file transfer is bit slow within the mobile, this is common for all mobiles, if you need max speed use a microsd card reader.

vivek, 22 Nov 2010i vivek again, i connected my cedar to system with USB cabl... morelogin to windows & connect cedar to pc using a micro usb data cable ex: nokia ca101. a new drive will open up in my computer & sony ericsson companion installation windows will open up (no need for any cd, cedar is already equipped with all files, this is a feature of greenheart mobiles), now continue installing proper drivers needed will be automatically installed. after installing restart the computer and now cedar is connected to your pc, if you need to copy files to cedar then in connectivity-usb change mode to mass storage you microsd card will be open up in my computer.

but the speed is seems to be low, thats why i asked for pc suit,
even using pc suit only we can see the contact and message,
but in pc companion is only working for internet connection, if there is no internet connection we cant work in pc companion
Plz clarify!!!!!!
even i am hold LG GM200 mobile this shows better internet connection speed than cedar
thats why i asked any Suitable PC suit is available ,
I mailed to SONY ERICSSION, they replied they can't help in this matter

rit, 22 Nov 2010dear friends i am totally confused about cedar,naite or nok... morenaite and cedar in the budget range of 5-6k , C5 is around 7500 .. since 3rd party softwares and 3g r ur priorities i reckon u opt for c5 by paying more ..
c5 is s60 low end smartphone.. but if u have budget problem then go for cedar , with j2me or jar softwares only. dont go for naite.

Battery is decent which means when you use the phone more like browsing, movie watching etc battery drains very fast (will get max talk time around 4 hrs) as this phone is continuously used during these activities.
On the other hand when this phone is used occasional like 2 or 3 calls a day with little music or radio listening etc battery lasts more (usually more than 4 or 5 days)
Also if you use this phone more via usb to transfer to pc for internet, transferring content etc phone gets automatically charged like a powerless pen drive due to the magic microUSB connection.

Youtube video watching only consume around 3 mb for 5 minute video, so you can use internet as unlimited with a cheap 1 or 2 GB gprs internet plan, if 3 g is not available on your city
