Theoretically the hardware specs have been categorized acc to the hardware capability .. i.e class 10 is diff from class 32 edge technically !
Your statistical knowledge about diff edge speeds in diff cities might be right,but as yo said that u live in a posh area & also the speed testing u made were also in pretty crowded areas(i guess), there are chances u might have not experienced the actual speeds the network is capable of.
So the question is, why this speed difference ??
Ans is simple, the local mobile tower which your phone has linked up to may be subjected to overloading of gsm(network used to transmit-receive calls)bandwidth or even with gprs/edge bandwidth for data users .. so the congestion caused there by prevents the utilization of the full bandwidth provided to a user. so just to adjust the lack of available bandwidth the signal tower's automation system would limit you from reaching full device speed..(i.e to keep all connected users atleast online thus preventing unintentional disconnection)
diff service providers have variable user traffic and also would react uniquely to congestion and this is a fact. also to test this iv checked vodafones edge speed in one of my friends nokia N8 (edge class 33).. and the result during downloads via IDM was a GooD 35-37 KBps(Kilo BYTES per sec)-[Bangalore], not tested with docomo on N8. In this case, my friend was residing at outskirts of the city (probably less tower network congestion ova der).
as conclusion : you could try to test the edge speeds at some sub-urban places of your city, hopefully you see the speed touch at least 34 KBps(if edge class 32 only).also Make sure ders strong signal reception from tower..
as of now its damn sure that docomo is cent % capable to provide 29 KBps steady via IDM (obviously using cedar) +/- 1.5 KBps.
Also der is a traditional temporary solution to bust slower speeds..
i.e just disconnect & connect several times until ders some improvement in download speeds :)
It would have been awesome if Cedar had edge class 32 !!! never mind its not that big difference anyways but would have been better.

Obviously EDGE class 32 is faster thn Class 10. My previous phone was Nokia 3110 which was EDGE class 10.I got 20KB download speed. That time one of my friend used NOKIA 5800. He got 32KB in my home. Nokia 5800 has edge class 32
And you people think every cedar user lives in India!? 3G is not available in so many country. And so many people do not use 3G because of high cost. Definitely i can say that Cedar 2G speed is bit Slower

There is no such way for db3350 to flash ... morelike i said before,there is a way to flash cedar offline with omnius,but u need online only if u enter ur account username n password,the flash process is offline dude,and u can sign up in omnius website with free not paid

I live in one of the posh areas of Delhi and the average speed that I got on 2g is 160kbps, tested on almost all the operators except MTNL and Cheers.
So where you will get 296kbps, I don't know.
I have tested the 2g speeds in many cities of India and the speed remains more or less same.
Once I tried to connect to Docomo outside Delhi (because its not available in Delhi) but I had a bitter experience with it, sometimes it connected but sometimes it refused, so I broke the sim and threw away and then moved to some reliable operator.
Is there anybody from India who got class 32 speed i.e. 296kbps on 2g network on any phone?

Sony ericsson phones has settings directly for connection of apps just like Nokia s60/symbians. Yes cedar supports multi-tasking,you can minimize any apps and do other things like texting or calling. Overall,cedar is a great 4K phone. So don't ask,just buy it.

Edge class 32 is obviously faster than class 10.
Even if there is high speed 3g in cedar, when using a gsm(gprs/edge) or dual network the bandwidth corresponds to the max edge network speed and not the 3g network band.
edge CLASS 32 = 296 kbps(kilo bits per second) = 37 KBps(kilo Bytes per sec)
edge CLASS 10 = 236 kbps = 29.5 KBps
cedar -> edge 10 i.e about 20% slower than class 32 edge.
gsm/gprs/egprs (or) edge (or) 2.5G are entirely different from 3.5G networks.
so even if the device supports 3.5G, there is no chance of getting higher EDGE speeds on 3g mode.
if you do not have a 3g data service active, but change network to 3g mode then service provider would switch u over to gprs network speed in order to facilitate speed capping of 3g usage (to prevent 3g download speeds on 2g plan)-> GPRS class 10 speeds i.e 115kbps = 14.4 KBps approx
Currently docomo network is capable of giving full 236 kbps edge speed in Cedar ( during downloads )

I've installed gordon gate... more1.First install gordon gate plugin.
2.Download latest Farmanager SEFP2 from internet and extract it.
3.Run far.exe.
4.Press alt+f2.
5.Then Select SEFP2 or press 0.
6.Select Connect.
7.Switch off your mobile phone.
8.Hold C button of your mobile(Under call end key).
9.While holding C button, connect your phone with your pc via USB cable. REMEMBER: do not release C button.
10.After connection Farmanager Show an Error RED cid81. Its normal. Just press ok.
Then you see one side of Farmanager window show your pc system file and another side show your Mobile system file. TPA,DEFAULT,IFS etc. Just copy your necessary file from PC to Mobile. I recommend you to use win 32 bit System

Now still I cant connect my phone by USB in FAR Manager.
With battery if I connect my phone in USB,it restarts.
Then I've tried without battery.But still my pone cant be connected in far manager.
I'm using win 7 64 Bit in my PC.
Somebody please help.

Cedar Users, 15 Dec 2011Go for asha 300. It has bigger display, touch screen, bette... morejust make sure it's not like the hanging nokia c5. Cedar can even match that phone even without a 1 ghz processor and ram/rom and can do multitasking. budget and convinience should come hand in hand. that's what you call value for money. for example, nokia x2 is far more expensive than cedar but i bet, cedar is worth your buck than that phone. try it. see to believe.
