hi everyone. i'm planning to buy this phone because here in the philippines it costs php6700 (more or less $140). i'm currently using a g502 but i want a phone which has a larger screen, better camera, touch screen and most of all, has an office viewer and editor (since i'm still a student). i was just wondering if there are already available new firmware updates so that maybe (just maybe), the particular lag and hangs that most people are complaining about g700 can be fixed. and can i debrand this phone so that i can enable flash themes? (i wonder too if there are available flash themes for g700)
anyway, thanks in advance for those who will be kind enough to respond to my queries. :)

everything is good in this phone specially its price in iran.

Maryam, 03 Aug 2009i am still doutful whether to buy G700 or to buy LG PK500. ... morei used to have lg cookie, but i sell it and bought the se g700. problem with lg cookie is the battery, it last only 1 1/2 days, while the g700 lasts about 3-4 days with regular text and call use.

Yo you might know me as a seller,but I bought my own G700 last saturday,it's a great phone (Considering it's budget)
The G700 is equipped with a 2.4 inch resistive touch screen which is great (due to the price range you might just get a normal 2.2 incher or less but colors are kinda cold but pl) Battery is great lasted the whole day playing music (Brightness is set to 15% percent actually) A cool feature here is that you can actually draw on the phone (I believe that more high end phone doesn't have this kind of feature,for example Apple iPhone 3gs) love the design it's just simple like me,and great music player and gallery,more like a walkman due to the Mega Bass preset.Camera is great,clear details for a budget phone,but a little fady.
But there are some downsideds though you can't change the Theme icon,performance is rather very very slow... but acceptable,earphones that comes from the package only has average quality,pure plastic build,not enough colors (available colors are truffle brown and silk bronze),camera lacks autofocus,messaging (or texting) isn't the best (even K800i is better at this aspect due to slow response).
But all in all the phone work great for the first week,no freezing was present (While it opens up there's a notification saying busy,but pretty slow very very slow). It's like the usual sony ericsson but just a touch screen one.
Conclusion:
Pros:Best equipped budget phone up to date,Great Gallery,Great music player (I mean very great,seriously),best camera resolution for it's price,Big screen (Wooo!!! touchy) and very solid build,good battery.
Cons:Very very slow UI (It took more than 5 seconds to just open the messaging menu),very weird to text,the Not so customizable UI,camera maybe good but there's something lacking,you could've but a new cheap Phillip earphones to replace the earphones (If you love listening to music),they could've made new sets of colors like Dark Black,Champagne red,Mystic Blue or even Majestic Gold for Christ's sakes.

I'll be posting what I think about this phone as soon as I get my phone on Friday. Apparently a lot of people have chosen this model over G900 - because it seemed slower.
I choose this one because I don't use the internet on mobile phones, hence, we created netbooks.
