you want camera with photo/video functionality, IR-window to transfer files? - go for k300i
You want exchangable covers? - go for j300i.
Those are the main differences.

is it reallly necessary to contact service provider for you to have internet access on the phone?
im really confused coz i have already tried the sonyericsson suppport website but then, nothing happens...
please help me set up e-mail services on the phone as well....already got the phone for a week, no internet service yet...anyone please help me!!!

why i have confuzed and ill with my taiwan k300i cell phone ? Is this from li-polymer 700 miA battery? please tell me with my email.

k500 is same as k300 but has other plastic shell, better and bigger display, antenna connector on backside (which can conect to car antenna) and lens protector
f500 is same as k500 but specified for Vodafone only so you get Vodafones ugly user interface (imho)
All inside is the same; same camera/video, battery etc including functionality. Menus look a little different since the K300 LCD is a bit smaller.

Look Colnoguy..I am not into software update a much as I want to know why I can't use the DCU-11 cable for update. Have I bought the wrong stuff? That means I still need desktand for updates and that I can't use this Dcu-11 for K700 f.e.? The ofical web site SE offers deskstand DSS-25 and USb DCU-60 as help gear to do updates. In SE shop I visited the clerk said DCu-60 is not compatible with k300i and that I need DCU-11. I installed program for updates from SE web site and connected the mobile but on screen message goes..."deskstand not conneceted"..so DCU-11 is useles for updates?

To muyeen: The battery backup of this phone is very good approximately 4-5 days, if u compare this K300i with 6030, SE K300i is far more better & advance than 6030.

Hi
I'm trying to migrate from Motorola C350 to some other phone. Till I saw K300 I was thinking of going for Nokia 6030. However one issue remains. I wish to know how good is the battery backup of Sony Ericsson phones after they are more than a year old as I dont change phones frequently. In fact Nokia has very good power saving mechanisms. The C350 gives a pathetic backup of half a day and its 1.5 yrs old.

You don't need to update software. Sony Ericsson is not updating the software anymore on this phone since it really works nice and in a stable manner.

On the website it is suggested you can also use a dc60 usbcable, but k300i is not compatible. No possibility to use the k300i usbcable?"....I bought DCU-11 which is compatible but the update process still requiers Deskstand..Is my money now wasted? I bought USB DCU-11 just because I thought I could update software. For data transfer I have IC port..

this phone is gretat i think:] i just bought it yesterday... it has much mb(12); it's great... good sounds and clips player.... that phone is cool.... and quite cheap for so many funcions... don't u think so people?... if u are thinkin' what good phone to buy for low price.... BUY THIS ONE!!!

Misay,
go to www.sonyericsson.com/support, type k300 and install WAP settings. Then restart the phone (just like you would do with a PC). Then you can start accessing the internet with your K300.
