hey ya'll!! I'm thinking about buying this fone in the next week or so and just had a few questions that hopefully some of u can help me out with.
ok...1) Can you put a personal password on, lets say, msgs, pics and other files??
and 2) Is it better to wait until the battery dies to charge it or is it the same as charging it anytime??
i wud really appreciate ANY response so can you guys please help me out??

I purchased this phone 5 months ago. It's a good phone, lot of features just for me. Good battery life (5-6 days). Initially the keypad is hard to use, but after it's too easy!! Camera is good except night mode, but it's not problem for me. Music is good with speaker, excellent using headphones. UI and browsing are fast... Great value of money!!!

guys can u connect this phone to the computer
and is the sound quality good and loud
whats the keypad like is it hard to use and
does it change couler when used to much
is the camra good quality

this is a boss phone the picture is very clean as for the battery story........... when you purchase a phone you do not charge it you use it until it discharges ....this should prolong your battery life ......let phone discharge for a least 3 times and you'll see you will only need to charge it in fact every 4-5 days!! believe that!!

Hi DaveS...Could it be possibly manufacturing defect for battery. Even i checked the IMEI number before purchasing the mobile and the 7th & 8th digit which reads as 01. So it's manufactured with good quality.

Guys,
M a huge SE fan . Last month I canged from K 750i to 550i. This is a brilliant phone.
Pros-
Wider display, supports most of the formats for music( e.g. m4a, wma, itunes etc which even earlier walkman brands dont support), the speaker volume is louder, the music output is excellent. If you use walkman headphones its better than W 810 i, you can run multiple applications, the FM reception is excellent, slim and sexy design. Excellent outdoor photos especially the macro mode.
Cons- indoor photos and photos in low light conditions are worst, not comparable with K 750i, battery life is not so good as i have read in the reviews, NO memory card and if you have to buy the memory card is more expensive than that of other types.

K550 it is a great phone,but the batery it suck's,from a lithiu polymer batery i had more expectation.

i listen two about two and a half hours of music each day and usually take a few pictures and i only have to charge the phone every 3/4 days.
turn bluetooth off and the battery life almost doubles.

I just purchased this phone a fortnight ago. Battery is coming for max 2 days for me. As i have no time to listen to music and just max 10 pic taken so far. But battery is not lasting for 3-4 days as mentioned in all the websites while i did research for this model. I talk less. So most of the time my phone will be idle. I wonder why it's not lasting 3-4 days. Guys please suggest me what i can do?

guys... i hasitated alot b4 purchasing this mobile... coz my budget was limitied.... but guys believe me ... i am now 100% satisfied... this is the best mobile phone among all of my mobile that i had used... those who said the camera quality is not good i strongly disagree wid them... guys it's not a digital camera its a mobile !!!!!
some of the features i'll like to rate :
1.os 10/10 [very fast]
2.sound 6/10 [not very good compare to walkman phones]
3.camera 8/10 [lil darky in night :(]
4.internet 9/10 [had 22KBPS on pc]
5.java 10/10
6.network 10/10
7.batery good [3-4days (if u use camera then batery will vapourized like petrol :D]
and the keypad is a lil tricy but believe me after 1 month it'll be easy as pie to use.
i personaly recomend those who has limited budget and lots a confusion .... purchase this with keep ur eyes shur :d

This is a great phone! Fast, well equiped, stable and has a nice shiny look :), I love it, except for the port located on the left side, I touch it anytime, I don't want to touch data ports on my phone!, you know static and other things can damage your phone just by touching the thingy... the speakerphone is a little poor too, but usable. Those are the only things that I don't like, anything else is just awesome.

Pooooooooor Receiption .
Is there any way to make the receiption good ?. The phone displays full signal in the indicator as I am near to the network tower. But when calling somebody the signal power indicator reduces automaticaly and some time goes to nill. And you can't hear any thing. Why ? How ?

sijo, if you go to esato.com and search 'k550 to w610' there is a guide in the forums, or google it even. it involves flashing the bios of your phone so back up all your numbers etc.

People said about flasing software of this phone with that of W610. How it is doing. Can anybody explain the procedure please. Can we do it ourself or have to go for the technicians ?. Please answer...

I just want to ask about zooming in k550i. I cannot zoom in normal scene, but can do in burst mode and/or in VGA size... Please advise me, so i can use zoom in normal scene or in 2MP size. thanx...

I'd used it since 3 months ago.. everything is okay, but i'm not satisfied with speaker and camera. The music i heard is too loudly and much of treble. Then about camera especially when i took the picture in low level of light (not completely dark) with flash turned on. i compare with K750, then K750's camera better than this phone.

It does have a night mode. It's just not specifically called night mode. It's called Twilight Landscape Mode. The Shortcut for it is the 7 button. Other modes include Twilight Portrait Mode, Sports mode, etc

I have been an SE fan ever since i could remember, and i can say that they're the best. regarding the night mode, my k800 doesn't have night mode either but has a setting there where you can choose twilight mode, a good setting for shooting at low light conditions. I believe its a substitute for the night mode. maybe k550 also has this feature since they're both cybershot phones {^^,}
- i have question for those using k550i for at least 2 months. Do you have any problem about the keypad? i mean is it hard getting used to it. is it hard to input text messages? Thanks in advance {^^,}

@ Pratik....you cant say the pictures of the k550 are as blurred as a vga camera. VGA is a resolution spesification (640X480). Even the k550 itself has a VGA setting. I however agree the fon could do better in night pctures. For starters, my k550 has no night mode setting despite it being claimed on this website and SE.
