sony ericsson k550 phone is very good but only one prblem about its button are so small its very difficult to fast pressing the button

fgLs: If you read the review you can see that TFD is a older display technique where you get rougher display... a TFT-like resolution but not as good really. The lower end K-line (K700, K508 etc.) have TFD display but only 65k while this one has 256k. TFD uses less power.

The Sony Ericsson K550 display is made using the TFD (thin film diode) technology. It offers TFT-like image quality but consumes far less power as low as the now obsolete STN displays which were used in the first days of the color mobile displays. The same display was used in Sony Ericsson K600, K608 and K610. TFD technology is not new and it's been around longer than TFT. Both feature an active matrix of pixels but when compared head-to-head TFD is known to show excessive brightness and contrast levels and inaccurate colors. Let’s just say that TFD would do just fine for those that are not that pretentious. Plus there’s the added advantage of longer battery life. The display performs well and remains almost perfectly visible under direct sunlight. We are happy with it and brightness levels don’t even need to be maxed out.

I've had this phone in white for a couple of months now. It's my first SE phone as I usually go with Nokia's, but I can honestly say that this is one of the best phones I've owned. The screen is large and bright and very clear to see even when it's really sunny outside.
At first I was dubious about this phone because of the small appearence of the keys, however I have found it very easy to navigate. Another thumbs up for the functions available as well as the selection of games. I've found this phone to have more tweaks and little things you can do to customise it that are much better than Nokias of the same type. The camera is very good and I really like the active lens cover which even works when the phone is locked - so no more fumbling around setting the camera when you want to take a quick pic!
The only bad points for this phone is that sometimes the automatic focus isn't that quick. Also, the metallic keys get fingerprints on very easily and also the screen.

people SE camera cant be dissed becuase they prouce better images then other company.
this camera in this K550 is probably better then all the Nokia 2MP cameras put toghether.

i am unable to get good picture during night times. i am unable to find night mode in this phone. i hope its worst in this compared to other mobile in sony erricson. is this mean cybershot ie missing of night modes?????????????? very worst???????????? who is this worst designer?? dont blame customers by naming cybershot or stupid namessssssssssss

Camera is PATHETIC.....most images r dark if not used in sunlight...comapare with any Sony Ericcson Camera Phones (even VGA) .This is worst in that.
Contacted Sony Ericc Service center and they told this is it !!!!
Camera Phone with Very bad image quality..afterall CYBERSHOT ..hm !!!!
Battery Life as usual.....
Everything else is good in this fone...

Does this camera have Night Mode as in K750 or W800?
Have anyone used it to shoot it in dark room such as karaoke, disco?
I am not sure why the W800 night mode quality is better than k550i Twinlight mode (As i could not find Night Mode)...
I saw a whole dark scene in Twinlight mode, while W800's night mode can take acceptable picture..
Any idea?

i don't think theres a major differences between the two phones except the platform and the design. both are good but they re for different tastes. if you wanted slim fashion phone with a digtal camera style at the back and wants multitasking and faster 3D java games then K550 is for you. otherwise W810 is better.

Sony Ericsson has provided us with a very good range of phones of all types.This is also a very good phone with cyber shot technology. I am waiing to buy this phone
